Another downside to these fires,  when they're extinguished,  everytime it rains water rushes through the burn scar and brings ash and soot into the streams,  rivers and lakes.  What a mess that is.

Reports today said they have the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock areas about 50% contained.  I think the winds have died down some...but no rain.

As of the news tonight, 11/21/16 Chimney Rock has reopened but the fires are not out, unfortunately.  Just a safe distance.

 So many supplies have been recieved that some are being sent to another fire.

One of the churches came in and fed the fire fighters a turkey dinner yesterday.  This is one of the same churches that took their big trucks to New Orleans when they were devistated with water some years back.
