pardon me if I missed the info in the countless posts- but has the OP actually had a diagnosis made by a physician? Or is she self-diagnosing based on assumptions and limited knowledge?

She had imaging that confirmed a blood clot, claimed she could not walk, nose bleeds, breathing difficulties and on oxygen, pain (threads on all symptoms) and wanted to check in to a facility(separate thread for that). Two health care providers told her to go to the ER (according to her) but she hasn't. Her husband said she didn't need to. She is using a walker, on a blood thinner, pain pills and oxygen.

This information is from various threads in the past week @smoochy .

Oh, mySmiley Sad

@Trinity11 I missed the bit that the husband didn't think a ER visit was warranted.  😳🫤

This is what she wrote today:

"I hope they call Monday to set up my therapy dates.

DH has been holding my hands as I walk to him, he walks backward to the bathroom.  I roll half way and walk the rest".

This is a head scratcher.

What is odd to me is that your doctor gets you into rehab, your doctor gets you home therapy, your doctor makes your plan for recovery and he and his office staff direct your plan for treatment.

Don't they?  Therapy coming last week, no Monday?  What?  How long has this been going on?

No amount of therapy, rehab or nursing care will help if she actually has a blood clot.

It needs to be dissolved before it travels to her lungs or heart.  This type of problem usually requires a diagnosis by a CT scan or an ultra scan.

I hope if she actually has a blood clot, she is taking this seriously.  It's a dangerous position to be in. Time is of the essence to avoid a stroke.

@Carmie

We would do ultrasonography, contrast venogram and/or venography, D-dimer and if positive, patient WOULD NOT go home.

@elated   A few days ago, she stated that she was on a breathing machine. Edema, pain and difficulty breathing, to me could indicate congestive heart failure. And a blood clot on top of that?

Yikes!  I'd be calling for an ambulance to get immediate care at the ER. Isn't that what her doctor's office recommended for her to go?

@Enufstuff

She also mentioned that she was on oxygen.

The er can't do anything but check vitals and give shots or x rays.  I need none of that.

WRONG. The ER does a lot MORE than what you posted. SMH.

@layla2450

Taking vital signs may be all that home healthcare does but that is not all ER does.  If that was, trauma patients would not be taken to ER and they are taken everyday for very, very serious injuries, illnesses.

I agree.  My MIL and my friend both had blood clots.  After they were diagnosed, they were admitted to the hospital.

Clots are serious. And when you have breathing issues, it is possible the clots have already traveled to your lungs.

I am scared for the OP.  I hope she and her husband come to their senses.
