Whatever happened to the idea of just telling her that she IS going to college. Period. She is too young to make a mistake of this level that will impact the rest if her life and her earning potential. That is the reality whether one likes it or not.

Force her?

So a parent or guardian is supposed to drop them off each morning and pick them up each afternoon?

Who is footing the tuition bill?  Even community colleges have tuitions and fees.

How do you make sure she actually attends her classes?  Parents aren't entitled to grades or attendance records even though they are probably the ones paying the bills.

@Mom2Dogs The statistics are unequivocal. Getting a college degree strongly enhances her likelihood of making more money throughout her life, as well as, of course, learning to think well. 18 year olds , at least the vast majority of them, are too immature to make such a bad decision. Adults in their life should insist on better decisions for them. Yes, you can make an 18 year old go to school.....And you can demand that they study and do well.

Yeah, that'll work. "Make her go to school" and "demand that she study and do well."
