An adoption of what?  Yes, I've seen garage sales where people accept whatever is offered.  They don't care about the money, they just want to clear out the stuff.

I went to a garage like this. It was held by a local church. that has one big sale a year. Nothing was priced. You just paid what you thought was fair. Not having to price everything is easier on those giving the sale. And whatever they make goes to the charity. Like me I am sure a lot of folks pay more for the items than if they were priced. I don't see anything political in your question at all.
