@ Montana I called the fraud/thieft USPS department, after talking to my main post office here. I was given a case #....... So, I'll see.
The main post office sort of stuck up for the carrier...saying he/she's delivered my mail for years.....and I said, well in all these years I've never seen him/her nor have they come to my front door! (I cannot see out from where I am inside)

@cbritewrote:I'm not sure what to feel. I had not received a package in a long time so I went to the tracking # and read what it said. It said my mail carrier with the USPS deliverd it to me and said I signed. This has happened 2x now.
I went onto the USPS site and requested a copy of 'my signature' to which I was to have signed for my deliveries.
Neither were my signature. Both were written by the same person I feel. I believe my carrier signed my name.
My first delivery I got. My 2nd package I never received.
I've reported it all to the appropriate places with the USPS. But I'm feeling hurt that my mail carrier would sign my name and not ring my bell and have me sign for them.
I've never seen the guy/gal. So I also put a note in my mailbox to please come to my door and meet me face to face. I included a note as to what's taken place and my missing package.
I 'think' he's lazy and maybe does not want to bother knocking, so he leaves things on my front table out front. Well, somehow the jewelry package did not arrive to me.
The package is insured by the nice seller but to think a USPS employee would do this twice, has me worried as to their honesty/integrity.
The USPS fraud dept. will get back to me in 3-5 days.
Again, he left a box on my table out front today and did not come to my door to meet me as I'd requested.
@cbrite I just realized you are speaking of USPS not UPS, and I have been complaining about UPS, but I have had many bad experiences with USPS also, lost hundreds of dollars worth of items because they weren't insured. I hope your packages were insured because otherwise, USPS does nothing, in my experience, to rectify such a situation.
I even sent a CD with a USPS manager's recorded phone call to me, recorded accidentally, to the Postmaster General, no response, who told me over the phone that he saw my package there and didn't know why it wasn't delivered. In spite of many phone calls, I never heard again. The postal workers who answered the phone kept telling me to contact the Postmaster General, but nothing came of that.
All USPS does is open a case and that is the end of it, but maybe because your incident is different, you may be compensated, but I doubt, but hope, it will be soon.

@Spurt The seller is wonderful....and I'm not worried about getting a new one. She insured it. She was great to chat with about Easter and such. We're just shocked.
I know what you mean by the USPS stuffing things into the mailbox...Hope you had a wonderful Easter~

@cbrite Seems unlikely the United States Postal Service employee would risk his/her employment and benefit package (including a nice retirement) package by signing your name to a package unless given a reason to do so.
You mentioned something about four packages in the past which now have your signature required. Are you readily available to sign packages when the USPS dellivery stops? Remember, they are on a tight schedule and do not have time to wait a lengthly time for you. Perhaps it would be a good idea to sign up for Interactive Mail through USPS.com; then, you'll know exactly what mail to expect. You will, however, have to watch the tracking number of packages you order and be close on the day (and at the normal time of delivery) for the convenience of your USPS delivery person.
I'd remove the "large notices" you have posted. The employees for USPS pass stringent testing and are knowledgeable employees. Please don't insult their intelligence. That could be the problem.
If you and the USPS delivery person have a personality conflict, you are going to have to "kill him/her with kindness" in order for your packages to be delivered properly. Sorry to say it, but sometimes that is human nature. Kindness always pays! Good luck and perhaps you won't have to sign for anything in a year or two. (Have you asked how long that requirement is in force? After six months of kindness, ask the question!)

I did have a nice Easter and hope you did too..........
Glad that you purchased the item from a good seller who is willing to get you a replacement .....

@cbrite, I have never heard of this, but it is important to find out exactly what is going on. I would try to meet with the driver and supervisor and find out who is signing. Is it possible that a neighbor is signing for you?

@cbrite Great, I am glad to hear your items will be replaced. QVC, and three other companies replaced the items lost by UPS that day, extremely nice of them, but I also have been a long time customer of all four companies. One was a huge box of plants shipped from Ohio, and another package was from another plant online company, and one from zulily which also replaced, so all UPS had to replace was one, the most expensive, as it turned out, lol.

@BirkiLady I've only said 2 packages required signatures - both shipped by same seller to me, and seller requested my signature on both. First package was left out on my table and it was NOT signed by me.
The 2nd package shipped to me never arrived, and again the seller requested my signature...the signature again was NOT mine - but I'll bet my bottom dollar the same person signed my name on both - they are exact, sloppy and a big ol scribble.
I am available - I again left a note in my mailbox early am today, to knock and meet me as I've never met my mail person. My door bell works fine - Fed Ex has no issues reaching me to sign..... nor does UPS.
I'm very kind......giving. But it's not ok to sign my name w/o my permission and then the package does not arrive.
