Started tonite. In morning I take Story for 1 - 1 1/2 walk, after dinner Story and Sedona get about a 20 minute walk. Came back tonite, grabbed my Ipod and off I went on my hour walk - it's a beautiful walk - down past a horse farm into a shaded wooded area and back. No people, no cars. Marking my calendar and intend to keep this up through the fall. Now sitting smelling my lilacs I brought in this afternoon - day can't get much better.

Good for you! I'm out early in the morning to get my 2 miles in. I feel very guilty if I miss a day.

If it's to lose weight you can do it. I started walking 4 years ago. I used to weigh 207 today I weigh 137!!!!! By walking everyday, rain or shine. I did it. I now walk between 6-10 miles everyday.

@phoenixbrd - I need to change my eating habits now so I can lose my middle that has expanded suddenly. I think all of this walking will help encourage me - hope me luck!

I try to get a fast paced 2 mile walk in at least once a day.
A few years ago at my physical, my doctor noted my weight going up. I told her I walked 10,000+ steps a day. She said 'Well not fast enough!'
So when my Fitbit wouldn't take a charge any more, I decided against getting a new one. I realized it's not the amount of steps that matter, it's the pace for sure.
I walk now, just to maintain my weight.

I also need to get busy.... last summer I was walking 3-4 miles per day ...
this winter a bad hip cropped up ... its a little better so I am starting out
slow....about 1 mile...
I need to do this as I am diabetic...
I am considering breaking it up into two shorter walks per day ....

I should also say I am a new diabetic and think I am sort of in denial ...
