@GATORGIRL - love your poetry. I try to write but mine are very basic - example below - wrote this when I found my closest, dearest, girlfriend had died in her bed after walking her dogs. She was late to come to dinner at my home so two of us walked down the hill to see where she was. She was wearing my dog walking jacket, dog leads in her hand - she just laid down and died.
"Coyntelyn"
i enter your your cottage almost every day
i remember so clearly where everything lay
your paintings, dishes, cookbooks too
everything in place - but where are you?
i enter the door and turn to the right
the kitchen is warm with a welcoming light
i sit with a drink and ponder anew
everything in it's place but where are you?
Your garden as always a wonderous sight - any season of the year - a total delight
your permanent mark is there / it is true
everything in its place - but where are you?
Coyntelyn was the name of her cottage - we both lived in Cornwall at the time. Thank you fir sharing this poetry day.
