I've met many very nice and helpful posters here over the years. I got to thinking today what first sparked my interest in posting. For me, it was the sweet friends I have met in the Pet Chat Corner in the Pet Lovers Forum. I was missing my dog who had passed on and needed to talk to those who would understand. They did and I still consider that a favorite place to go and post. I have counted those posters as dear friends over the years.![]()
Please share what first motivated you to be among friends...

I wandered over here and noticed a thread called the Bird's Nest. Being a birdmama myself, you know I had to take a peek. I started posting during a lull in posting on that particular thread and when I didn't see any new posts after mine I thought I intruded or ruined the mojo, lol. Possummink assured me that I didn't and I have been posting on the Bird's Nest for a few years now. I wandered over and also started chatting with the Back Fence ladies. We tend to criss cross threads.

Lonliness, I do not have a large circle of friends/family due to medical issues and phobia's, I have been degraded by family and so called friends currently and in the past, my husband works long hours, and after lurking and reading posts before ever posting I found that people seemed to care about one another and understood what other posters were going through, so I thought what the heck, and I am so glad I did, there are some beautiful souls on these forums and quite a few of the posts have helped me through some very dark days!

@Bird mama I understand about criss crossing threads. I have counted many posters as friends on various boards here through the years. I also understand thinking you are intruding and being welcomed into the "fold"!![]()

Hello My Dear Friend
As you know I've been mainly posting on the
Pet Lover's board for at least 8 years (which
is where you & I met) and on occaision will
reply to a post on another board but only if
it piques my interest.
I wound up on this board (specifically
the Sidewalk Cafe thread) last September
when I found out via a post on one of
the threads on the Pet Lover's board
by Tissyanne (another long time friend
I met on that board) that NAES (yet
another friend that I met on that same
board many years ago) had a kitty that was
very ill and both she and her kitty were
in need of prayers and that NAES had posted
her prayer request on the Sidewalk Cafe
thread.
Sadly NAES's kitty didn't make it and went
to The Bridge. However, after I made my
initial post (sending prayers to NAES
and her kitty) I read many of the other
posts on the SC thread, loved the fact that
it was a very friendly, loving and
TROLL FREE! thread and decided to "stay".![]()

I don't remember if you've ever posted on
the Pet Lover's forum. If not I'd like to invite
you to do so and would like to recommend the
following wonderful,friendly and TROLL FREE
threads...
The Pet Chat Corner
I took over keeping this weekly thread going
after the Q did that lovely "upgrade" of
the forums in June 2015 and so many
beloved threads were nuked.Due to
this the woman who had been starting
a new thread each week for years was
unable to do so and reached out to me
to see if I could do it. I was more than
happy to take over the reins.
Please note that you do not have to
have a pet/furbaby to post there!
Calling All Pancakers
The original thread was Pancake Had Her
Kittens and was on the Viewpoints board.
After the "upgrade" this beloved thread,
as well as the Viewpoints board were nuked.
I began that thread as a way for all
of us Pancakers to find each other.
The Schmoo Thread
Sadly the original thread was also
nuked by the upgrade but the OP
Sammycat started a new thread
the next day and it continues to
keep going strong.
Hope to see you there!![]()
