Re: Time for me to warm-up to the newer hosts...

@house_cat

I'll be you find when you retire, you will watch a lot less QVC because you'll be doing other things Cat LOL

When I worked, I used to really enjoy my time watching, but it was a novelty then.  And, I enjoyed all the original hosts during those early days.

Once I retired, I just wasn't as interested....and, thankfully so.  Now, I rarely turn it on.

The other day I caught a few minutes of Mary Beth and was so happy to see her, but....I had other things to do.

@PhillyGirl23

Yes she is making a correlation to living longer as her parents did and missing some familiar things, family and people you've seen on TV for decades.

David V is close to 30 years on QVC, Mary Beth longer, etc.

Hopefully this will help you understand the Q and watchers more.  You've posted many negative comments and not sure why you are doing that.

Re: Time for me to warm-up to the newer hosts...

I haven't seen a host retire since Kathy Levine.  None of the long time hosts are going anywhere anytime soon.  They let hosts go but that's not retirement.   It takes me a while to get accustomed to new hosts.  Sometimes a year or two.  A bigger problem for me is that I have a hard time recovering when hosts leave.  And I don't even watch much of QVC on TV.  I still haven't totally adjusted to Gabrielle not being on QVC.  I'm retiring in a couple of weeks but I'm going watch more QVC that I do now.  Not going down that road.

I can understand it.  There are some that I miss seeing too and I have grown to like some of the newer ones, though not many.  I also have some hosts I enjoy on HSN.  Not that they are friends of mine and I don't get teary eyed when they move on but you do get used to certain people that you enjoy watching.  Colleen Lopez is my all time favorite host.  She could sell me just about anything, LOL!

@LindaSal

I've posted about my love of watching Colleen sell...almost anything (maybe not computers).

She is just so fun, and maybe it is faked, but...even when she is talking about the tanzanite mines running out or closing down, I've got to smile.

I had to tune out one day because I found myself thinking, "I could use that" and it was jewelry or something I had no use for!

She's the kind of person you'd like to have as a friend I think.

As far as the new hosts go I can tolerate most of them; but RG seems like a carnival barker.  JMO.

Thank you for helping to clarify what I said. I've been on these boards long enough to expect dissenters, as well as those who don't take the time to understand before reacting.

Re: Time for me to warm-up to the newer hosts...

I have a lot of favorite hosts and vendors from when I watched.  It was such a great group!  It is always nice to know some are still there.

Some of the beauty and clothing vendors were so very interesting.  Some of them I would watch just because of the presenter or vendor I enjoyed them so!

@house_cat  - I have to agree with @chrystaltree .  I don't see any of them retiring anytime soon.  David is in his 50's.  Everyone knows Jane just turned 60 and she surely isn't going anywhere.  I believe they all will be around for several more years to come unless the Q decides to get rid of one of them.

I did not get that at all here @PhillyGirl23 She is merely trying to provide a nexus between the two and how loss feels.
