I have pricing on a new 2016 and a used 2015 with 10,000 miles.
There is about $4000.00 difference between the two vehicles....the 2016 has a few more bells and whistles but since cars depreciate so fast I cannot decide if the difference in price is worth purchasing the brand new car. The cars are both the same brand.....
Any thoughts? Thanks!

I would do an online search and see how others are pricing the same vehicle. it should give you and idea if its a good deal or not.

Do you want the bells & whistles???
FWIW....
My father has always told us kids growing up, "never buy anyone else's problems."

@Mz iMac...the used car is a vehicle the dealership loaned out when the customer's car was in for a repair...local driving only.

If the brand has a good reputation, 10,000 miles is nothing. Will you put many miles on it each year? My vehicle was used with 13,000 miles on it, when we bought it. It's a 2009 and it now has 45,000 miles on it. I will have this thing for another 7-10 years. I did get an extended warranty on it, in case, never used the warranty.
We also bought a 2002 truck brand new. We don't drive it everyday, but it runs like a charm and has 95,000 miles on it. We will have this gem forever.
New or used, depending on your yearly driving; a GOOD brand will last a long time. IMO

What's the warranty on the 2015 car?

I always buy a car that is a year or two old. Let someone else pay that initial depreciation. I've never had a problem with doing that.

Interesting. I suggest that you go to the True Car website as well as checking out the Kelly Blue Book website.
I would do some serious negotiation for a "loaner" vehicle in case that is your choice.
Is a trade-in an option?
FWIW....
I plan on getting a new car before the year is out. I have been researching the car I want to purchase for about a year.

I'd try to get them to go down a little more and would buy the new one. It's a year newer, has no miles, more bells and whistles, you will have to buy new tires one year earlier because of the 10,000 miles. With cars being so expensive, I don't see the $4000 difference as a deal breaker.
What is the warranty on the used one? Sometimes used cars get better warranties than new cars. If not, that's the deal breaker for me.
Hope you love whichever one you buy.

Thanks everyone...I love these boards...so many opinions.
I believe there is a 3 year warranty on the used car., but will check for sure....the idea of needing new tires in a short time frame had not occured to us.
