Re: The haunted phone inspired thread about " visitors"

I do not believe in any of this ghost scary stuff at all. Lots of stories....not much reality.

Re: The haunted phone inspired thread about " visitors"

@Quse my husband's law partner had been really stressed out and losing weight, disheveled in his appearance since January.  He finished a case and said - I quit.  He was talking about a character in a horror movie and rambling about other things.  My DH could not figure out what was going on.

A couple weeks later, the guy phoned DH and said that he had opened a couple portals via computer in order to transport himself to opposing counsel's office. I guess to find out the other side's strategy. In doing so, he opened up something.....I know the guy had plans to go to an exorcist.  Just crazy stuff.

DH now works from home but his partner's office remains empty.  No one wants to use it.  I just think the whole thing is freaky.  Did the guy have a mental breakdown due to stress or something else?

One of the first pages I happened upon was a page where someone was answering questions about mythology...and one of the questions answered was about how being transgender was viewed in Norse mythology.  I was stunned, as it seemed like an unlikely thing to stumble upon when googling Norse mythology.

Very interesting!  I have researched Norse Mythology and can't remember ever stumbling upon anything transgender.  I would have read it had it just been there so I think it's a lot harder to find offhand than we think! Which gives your experience even more credence IMHO.

Speaking of books (yours turning into an album).... shortly after my Dad passed I had a profound dream where i was at a very crowded (what I thought was) a party, too many people trying to get around.  I had a book (thought it was my Dad's), sat down with it on my lap and it opened on its own, pages flying past me until it stopped on one page in particular where, at the bottom, was my Dad's distinctive handwriting and it said "(my full first name, It's always 1939..... All is well!".... (in 1939 he was 25 years old!)

It still gives me shivers....  I know it was from him.....and it gave me peace.

BTW, my Dad lived for his books.  He had a great library. He made his living with the English language.

I also had a couple of dreams about my Mom, one of them gave me incredible peace.

@Q4u  I had to read the part about the book over again to really get a sense of how powerful that must've been.  I'm glad you had dreams about your mom that gave you peace as well. Heart

You know what's really weird about the fjord thing and the Norse mythology?  As far as I know, we don't have any links to Norse tribes or Scandinavia, and I've never felt a burning desire to go there or learn about the area.  However, I'm told some of my ancestors came from countries just south of there.  Wouldn't it be weird if I took a DNA test and found out I had Nordic blood?  I'm not sure if I want to do one of those tests, but one of my aunts was the family genealogist on my dad's side, and my cousin left some of that information at my parents' house after her mother died.  I'm hoping my mother knows where in the house it is.  It would be pretty amazing if I found out I'm a Nordic squirrel.

@MickD Hard to say.

I can't imagine wanting to win a case bad enough to start messing around with that.

It's funny, even with all I've witnessed since childhood, I still don't jump right to ghosts. I'm very skeptical and try to find natural causes to things first.

The most recent bit of real weirdness happened when my dogs started barking in the middle of the night. I figured it was some animal in the yard. Usually they quiet after I tell them to stop. They didn't. I figured I'd better go out, in case it was something like a skunk or raccoon. I was not happy to be getting up and going out to the backyard at midnight, but, I also didn't want to deal with skunk stench or raccoon mess.

When I got outside, my dogs stopped barking and were just walking around acting nervous and weird. I took the flashlight and walked the yard, not seeing anything. My dogs were kind of following me, but acted like they were in a weird trance..nervous, but not actively honed in on anything. Usually, if it was an animal, they would be at the fence carrying on like crazy. I didn't see any signs of an animal and was about to go back in when I heard a VERY deep and gutteral growl, coming from just beyond the fenceline. The only thing I could think of was a lone wolf (although I'm familiar with wolf sounds and this was much deeper and whatever it was was BIG). Since the only thing between me and it was a fence, I high tailed it to the deck, hoping my dogs would follow. They sort of came toward me, but still seemed like they were in a nervous, weird trance, just looking around, looking at me, looking at each other. The rest of the night was dead calm, no crickets, no wind, no sound of any sort. I listened to try to hear the thing beyond the fence moving to make my next decision. I heard nothing. (I recently had a hearing test and I have extremely good hearing. My daughter jokes that I have bat hearing) I didn't hear the thing rustling, retreating, or moving in the grass/leaves at all. We were just standing around looking at each other when the dogs both looked up, toward the roof line, their eyes both tracking the same thing. I got really nervous and slowly turned around, thinking I'd see a raccoon on the roof and have to think fast if it jumped

(we did have a rabid raccoon on the roof in the middle of the day several years back and had to shoot it down) I was thinking raccoon or something natural. As I turned, something went past me, causing my hair to blow forward, like someone going past fast. There was nothing there. No wind, dead calm, not a leaf moving...and I was in an area that is always calm, even on a windy day. Both dogs were tracking something with their eyes, then seemed to lose it, snapping out of their trance or whatever they were in.

Thinking now that it was not a natural thing I was dealing with, I actually got mad and said out loud, "I don't have time for this! I'm going back to bed!"

I called the dogs in, still more afraid of a wolf than a stupid paranormal thing....lol

The next day, I went out and scoured beyond the fenceline looking for ANY sign of an animal. No tracks, no fur, not a blade of grass was tamped down. Nothing. No sign of any animal at all.

I don't know what it was. I just know I was annoyed at having to deal with it when all I wanted to do was go to bed..lol

Yes, the ex-partner...I guess all I can say is that it's probably

good that he is an EX partner.

Actually, one of my favorite movies is "Devil's Advocate" with Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino...not scary, but entertaining.

Most of the "scary" movies are just too idiotic for me..I just get bored watching them

@MickD  No, I haven't.  I've heard of it, but not seen it.  I'll have to check it out!
