broke for the 1st time a little more than a year ago.  Hubby glued it on and it worked until yesterday.  It came unglued.  He looked on the Kenmore website and they wanted $37.00 for a new plastic handle.  I think that is absured.  Good thing hubby is handy, he took 2 screws and screwed it back on and its very strudy now.

$37.00 for something that probably does not have $3.00 worth of plastic in the whole thing.  Geesh!

Re: The handle on my dryer door

You don't have to be handy to screw something back on. Smiley LOL

Re: The handle on my dryer door

I know what you mean. DH is very handy & can fix most anything if he wants to do it. LOL!!! If it comes off again you could try JB Weld.

My old car electric window on one side broke so could not be used. DH called the dealership to check price for part. They wanted over $100. It had a broken plastic piece in it. I told DH I'm not paying that for the part. They did not sell just the plastic piece. They want you to buy the whole mechanism.

I searched online & found the plastic piece for under $10 at Rock Auto. LOL!!!

Re: The handle on my dryer door

Why are you so negative? There are plenty of people out there that can't use a screw driver.

If your comment is directed towards me......

My personal opinion was not negative.  If you feel it so, then so be it.

@Imaoldhippie

Here is the real question:

Since it was "broke" and now it is "fixed" who really fixed it...your hubby or was it.....God??????

Re: The handle on my dryer door

@Havarti ..........God gave my husband the "fix it" ability, so it was both.

Re: The handle on my dryer door

I've been using my old microwave for 2 years now without its handle.  That cracked ioo much for either of the handymen I hired for other purposes to get it to work again.

So far, so good.  The microwave is well over 25 years old - anything spent on it will be for replacement.

I do know my BIL was able to repair their handle with gorilla glue.
