The Golden Years

[ Edited ]

I saw a couple of references to the "golden years" on the dress with tiers topic.

Some of my fellow arthritis sufferers refer to them as the "rusty years" or the Rice Krispy years.  Whenever we move our joints go "snap, crackle and pop."

@ALRATIBA , Yesterday I felt like the TinMan, I needed an oil can. ☹️

My joints always did pop.  I was always referred to as "double jointed".

Pops and creaks are percussion to the tinnitus orchestra.

My mom always said that her golden years were nothing but rust.... Now I know what she meant.

@ALRATIBA  I have often heard the "golden years" as the snapdragon years.

@Boomernichols   That's a good one. I'll have to remember that.

I relate to all the comments.  I have many aches and pains, doctors are my social life and my energy level is low more times than high!  On the positive side, I have wonderful friends and a great family who make me forget about the aches and pains and that puts the gold in my golden years!!!!

Golden Years - no such thing. They do not exist. I call these the tarnished years, nothing shines anymore, nothing pretty or sparkly about these years as I go on.

Popping joints ????  I am familiar with achy joints and still joints.  Never heard of popping joints.
