Re: The Crazy English Language

Why do you go "in" a car but you get "on" a bus?

Hi @Foxxee these are great.

Why do we park on a driveway and drive on the parkway?

The Arkansas and Kansas thing really bugged me to the point I googled it.  It has to do with the different Native American dialects from those areas.

@Foxxee @I've thought of some of these myself. I've even looked into the etymology of other words that I have questions about. Sorry, I can't remember which ones they were.

@moonandthestars

Zoe, Zoey, Joey have 2 syllables.

Joe has one.

@OKPrincess  Wow - I always thought zoe was pronouced just like joe!  otherwise, why bother to have a zoey option? lol.  Am I the only one who didn't know zoe was said with 2 syllables?
