@geezerette - Both of your mom's sound like a hoot. Nothng like my mom. I don't honestly recall her doing much of anything. She went back to nursing school when I was around 11 and other than work, she didn't do anything active that I can recall.

That's partly what led to her early death at 68. She was very overweight and was never able to recover from an emergency bowel surgery.

She must have been an influence, nonetheless.  You became a nurse and you're taking take of yourself and working towards being healthy for you and your family. Heart

I've decided to watch ER reruns this morning.  Am I the only person who had a soft spot for Dr. Romano?

Last week at work I mentioned to a coworker that he had all the best lines.

I'm beginning to think that "ER" stands for "everyone's retarded".

Yes, he was abrupt and insulting, but there was just something about him that was appealing.  He said what other people were thinking but were afraid to say.

And then the writers killed him off by dropping a helicopter on him.

Re: The Bee Hive -- Winter 2020 Edition

I'd just posted about the email from companies assuring me how much they care and what they're doing to demonstrate how much they care because -- gosh darn it -- they're just all about caring.

In my inbox this morning I have yet another message from a CEO.  We've never met, but he cares about me and wanted to make sure I know.

Happy New Year! I am thrilled to turn the page to 2021 and feel optimistic that we will finally experience the long overdue “return to normal.”

Really?  Clearly he got the memo that some of us haven't yet received.

The rest of his message was a description of how much they contributed to a world hunger organization and a very detailed description of their COVID protocol.  Because they care and want to keep us safe.

Wait a minute -- I thought he just said we're returning to normal.

Anyway, this looks like the beginning of a very full inbox stuffed with chirpy messages about how great everything is going to be in 2021.

Time to start directing messages to my Junk file.

Yeah, my mother could be a hoot at times.  But life was so inhibiting in her early days she didn't show it often.  But in her last few years I found out more about her life than I ever knew--sometimes a little more than I wanted to know!😳😆

But she could be equally as frustrating as funny.

Now, my mother would have admired yours.  For going back to nursing school and doing something she must have wanted/enjoyed.  My mother was a housewife her whole life and we never found out until she was in her eighties that she would have loved to go to college and become a journalist.  She loved to visit new places and talk to different people.

Well actually, she just loved to talk, period.🤣

Your mother did a lot from my viewpoint.  Just look at you, my inspiration!🥰🏆

Okay, is this a trick or a test?

Find the differences in the two pictures?  What is wrong with this photo?  Your new glasses finally made you see double?

I give up.🤨
