Yes, I do believe the days are getting a little longer.  It always seems weird to me that we get our coldest weather when the days are getting longer and our hottest when they start getting shorter.🤨

@geezerette

Hmmm.  Not too early to start drinking wine, is it?

@just bee

I didn't think it was ever too early for that!😉🍷

@geezerette

I feel it's appropriate to toast Tanya Roberts' big comeback.

@just bee

That's as good an excuse as any!

@geezerette

That's what I thought!

@just bee

I didn't think you needed an excuse!😆

@geezerette

I just had an epiphany.

For the past few days I've been walking around wondering what it is I've forgotten.  I was stressed and felt this weird pressure as 2020 was winding down.  Now it's a new year and I've felt much lighter.  Like I've crossed everything off a big to-do list.  I'm relaxed.

Then it occurred to me it's because I've been off work since Friday morning.

Let's see how I feel once I start my work week tomorrow.

@just bee

Well, a leave certainly has lightened @bikerbabe's life considerably.

Maybe you should consider some time off too.

Got any vacation time coming?

@geezerette

I had close to 300 hours when I took time off in October and November.  I don't need time off.  It's just that I get better sleep on my days off.  Explains why I'm relaxed.

I question everything else, why should the internet be any different?

Justbee you can have as much as you would like ,the rain fall is really been heavy. Trace of snow, all rain. ground is soggy you sink down when you walk on it.

ok later guys

@viva923

Perfect, because we don't have any precipitation in the forecast this month.  Just cold and dry.

@just bee

Along with @viva923's rain, I'll volunteer to send you some of our humidity and clouds.

Overnight express.

Keep them as long as you'd like.

@geezerette

Got plenty of clouds but none of them block the sun.  If I could send some sunshine your way, I would.  No shortage here.

Think you'll ever come back this way?

@just bee -I'd sure love some sunshine. That's one of the reasons why the winters here are so depressing. It's only partly the cold, but a lot of it is the fact is that the sun rarely comes out. Very depressing after weeks and weeks.

That's what the woman from Michigan said.  She appreciated the sunshine here and didn't miss the gloom.

I always liked fog and rain so I didn't think I'd like all these blue skies and sunny days.  But I do notice a difference in my mood.

I chose a university in a place with a lot of fog and days of never-ending rain.  After a five-year program, I was getting a little tired of the constant damp, the mildew, and the respiratory infections.

Loved the fog but didn't enjoy driving in it.

So I can see how this climate is an improvement for a lot of people.

That's one big reason my husband hated living there.  But then, he hated the cold too.  Or I should say he hated it cold and humid.  Cold and dry wasn't a problem.

I agree that when it's overcast for several days in a row it's depressing.  I've noticed that a lot lately.  It definitely has a direct effect on my outlook.  But then when we lived in the desert by the middle of summer I was wishing for some clouds.  I got to hate waking up every morning to a cloudless sky!

That sounds ridiculous to me now, but it wasn't then.
