hey all
did find out about my tests mix up on 24th december.
Dr did order wrong tests. test place caught error, they told doctor, he rewrote the correct paperwork, just no one informed me about this error, i worried needlessly about why paperwork said one part of body and a whole nother part of body was being tested. so test run on the 24th were correct. just i did not know about this whole mess mix up.
not much else. did chores, did walks, folded clothes. not much else. just left overs for dinner.
ok guys later.

I'm glad the correct tests were run. How frustrating to go through the weekend not knowing.

I picked up my new frames yesterday -- curbside.
Put them on. Instant headache. First thought: Is this a bad prescription? The associate asked if they needed any adjustment. I looked down and they started sliding off my face.
My Versace frames never required adjustment and they never slid off my face.
So, I placed the glasses in their case and handed the case to the associate.
When she returned, I put the glasses on and they didn't slide off so I thanked her and drove away. Realizing, of course, that she still had my case.
Turned around and retrieved the case.
Got home. Looked in the mirror. Hate the frames.
Should have gone with the more rectangular shape because that frame would not have emphasized the dark circles under my eyes.
It's like I'm wearing a double frame. Didn't realize how awful these look because the Versace frame covered them.
Now I feel like I have to do something drastic like buy concealer. I've never used concealer.
I've already cut my bangs and I'm thinking of buying a hair clip to put all my mop up into some kind of bun. Maybe I'll start wearing some of the more elaborate earrings I never wear (I always grab the same ol' opal pair).
Anything to try to take the attention off the mess under my eyes. Think a forehead tattoo might work?
Oh no!!! I'm sorry about your frames. I too was worried about my eye exam as I keep fogging up too. The doctor told me to just pull down my mask as she wasn't concerned.
Are you going to give them a few days to see how they work out?
I haven't been wearing my new glasses much, I'm so use to my contacts. When I put my glasses on, I feel like I'm in a fish bowl looking out...weird feeling. Maybe I have to get use to having glasses. I haven't had glasses since I was in my early 20's and I just turned 61 in Oct.
I am pleased with my choice of frames, very comfortable. I do feel a little silly with them on, not use to seeing glasses on my face,

To be fair, this is an attractive frame. I just don't think it's that attractive on me. Should have stuck with a modified cat eye. The problem was that there really wasn't one available. The more rectangular Bebe (BB5164) frame was probably the better choice. If I hadn't had to make a decision right away and had more time to research the frames -- the way I usually do -- I might have made a different choice.
These are comfortable and they are light -- both in color and weight. I think I need more time to adjust. Like you, I'm not used to seeing a frame like this on my face.
I may learn to like them. I wanted something different and these are different.
I'm glad you like your frame. It's a pretty one!

Do you remember how giddy I was not long ago when I ordered a bottle of cheap Suave conditioner and it arrived with the lid taped and placed inside a sturdy plastic bag to prevent leakage?
Well, today I ordered a bottle of Alba Botanica lotion to be picked up. I figured I might as well order one of their shower gels, too, just to see if the combo will make any difference in my iguana skin.
Not available at my Target, so we had to drive to Rio Rancho. Took the dog and stopped at the park to give him a good brushing. I looked at all the balls of hair rolling across the grass and told BH it looked like a herd of buffalo. He said they were fluffalo.
But I digress. Anyway, I finally got a good look at my purchase and there was leakage all over the shower gel bottle. I'm not even sure it was from the bottle.
And then the lotion. Does Alba not fill their bottles completely? I paid for 32 ounces but there is in no way 32 ounces in that bottle.
And I can't get the pump to work.
So I have to drive back there and return it? Not what I really wanted to do.
The only good thing about this is that we met a friendly woman in the park who was there with her dog. She is a transplant. Moved from the Upper Peninsula (another Michigander @rnmom ) about a year ago and she is in love with this state.
She adopted her dog in Santa Fe: A Beagle/Jack Russell. She was there to get a Lab, but the Lab was out for a walk. She saw the hound/terrier X and thought: I've never had a small dog. I've never wanted a small dog. I came here for the Lab.
But then she heard the story of how he was horribly abused by his owner: Broken ribs and two broken legs. She scooped him up. They were so happy to find him a home that they waived the adoption fee and threw in a free DNA test.
She loves her dog and she loves New Mexico.
Go figure.
I'm glad she's happy and that her little dog is, too.
But I'm still p____d off about this purchase.
@just bee -Sorry about the lotion bottle. I've had that happen, where the outside of the bottle is all slimy from "something" and it's nasty. I'm trying to remember how full mine are when I first open them. Nothing jumps out at me as being unusual, but they might not be filled totally to the brim.
While I've never had one where the pump doesn't work I will warn you, the pump will not get all of the lotion out of the bottle. I always end up tossing an ounce or two because I just get tired of fussing with it. But it's so inexpensive for such a big bottle that I don't mind, too much.
Hubby and I are still talking about moving out of Michigan too. I'm not sure when, with the kids still in school, both of us still working, etc. But I know for sure that I want out of this pit as soon as I can get out. We just have to decide where we think we might want to go.

@just bee wrote:I'm also irritable because I feel like I'm coming down with whatever it is BH has. I can't show up to work with symptoms so I might have to get swabbed tomorrow.
I'll keep my swab opinion to myself right now. I've been watching nurses swab patients for months and I've swabbed patients myself. Everyone seems to have their own way of swabbing. Just sayin'.
And I'm irritable because I did something yesterday that I never do. I was channel surfing and landed on TLC. I never watch TLC.
I ended up watching a reality TV series that was new to me but was something even BH knew about. And he doesn't watch TV. Gee, how far out of the loop am I, anyway?
Watching reality TV is bad enough, but do you know what's worse? Watching the current batch of TV commercials that are out there.
I do not recognize the world I'm occupying. No wonder I look like Al Pacino.
@just bee - I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well and I definitely hope that you don't have to get tested. I have my own opinion about the tests too, and I bet you can guess how I feel about them.
Regular TV is absolutely horrible right now. I don't watch a lot of reality TV unless it's Homestead Rescue or Hoarders. But we do have several series that we watch and we were actually glad to see them starting back up late this fall.
Let's just say that after watching a few of the "new" episodes for this season I'm not sure that I'm going to continue watching too many of them. They might as well be reality TV. I watch TV to escape the nonsense that I live every day, not be reminded of it. And the commercials? Thank goodness we DVR just about everything we watch so we can skip the commercials.
I remember when BH would have an episode of Hoarders on, then slowly turn and look at me.
See, this is why people can't get along anymore.
We are damaging our brains and our souls with this cr@p.
@just bee - I still like watching Hoarders and wish they had some new episodes. If nothing else, it usually motivates me to get up and clean or organize.
Hubby doesn't like watching it at all because his mom is a hoarder and he grew up in a mess and they still live in a mess.
It's not as bad as most of the ones on TV, the majority of the house if functional, you can use the bathroom, cook in the kitchen, etc. But they don't have a kitchen table to sit and eat at, just a counter, or if that if full, just your lap in the living room. They do have whole rooms that they can't/don't use because they're full. That sort of thing. So I can see why it turns him off.
Needless to say, I very rarely go over there and if we do, we only drop in, we never stay more than a few minutes. Hubby and the kids are there more hunting, gardening, etc.
Your BH sounds like a hoot. You both do actually. Too bad we can't meet in person, we sound like we're a lot alike.
He is a hoot. Just when I could throttle him, he will say something that's so witty that it makes me forget that I was thinking about choking him to death.
As I've said, March 2021 will be the 30th anniversary of our first date. We were friends and coworkers and everyone knew he was going to ask me out officially before I did.
I still say we've lasted because no one else would be able to tolerate either of us.
It would be fun for Hivers to meet outside of the Hive. I think we could cause quite a stir...
@just bee - Wow, 30 years, that is a long time! Congratulations!
