My sister called today and she mentioned that she can't use eye drops.

Just won't do it.

@just bee  That would be me!  When my eyes get dialated, I'm doused with eye drops because I BLINK BLINK BLINK the whole time they're holding the bottle over my eyes.  Nope, I'm an admitted wimp.

And my poor son, he had so many surgeries and procedures done to his eye after an auto accident.  I cringe still when I think of what he went through.

One procedure was so horrific, it was hard to look at him.  I can't remember how long it had to be that way, but it was almost barbaric.

Honestly, his left eye doesn't look like his right eye.  He's missing the lower lashes.  He can't wear contacts as they don't stay in that eye.  It's always terribly dry.  I could go on.

Popping in to say goodbye to September.

Last night was perfect. Celebrated with my family in a cute little park. A bonfire, hot dogs, and s'mores were involved.

Laughing children running and playing. Adults enjoying conversation and beverages. A gorgeous sunset spraying the hay field with that golden-hour glow as the giant bales in the foreground somberly observed us.

I stepped back into the darkening shadows to take it all in and savor my blessings. And I had a thought, really for the first time at a deep level. (We all know it instinctively and do our best to push it away.)

This will all go on without me. This. Joy. The sounds of life. As it went on before I arrived on the planet. And my loved ones and their loved ones will be okay. And I will be okay with the LORD. And I was at peace.

I suppose that is what was intended.  And there's something very comforting about that. Heart
