When we moved here 30 years ago, we would have liked to have bought a home in Rio Rancho; however, we were discouraged because the city's water rates were significantly higher than Albuquerque's.

It has been a source of pride that we have kept our water bills pretty much the same all these years.

But now we have entered a whole nuther area.  Because of our new rate increase, our bill is almost $77.  That's a huge increase for us.

But I guess I shouldn't complain.  I told my sister our electric bill was $300 and she laughed.

Her last PG&E bill in California was well over $1000.

Our water bill is the highest out of the three, elec, water, gas.

I have my electric budgeted, so it's $93/month, gas was $19.36 and water was about $142.

I'm pretty frugal!  We have family here about every other weekend.  Teenagers are wasteful!  I budget their *buts* in....lol.

There are other things I'd rather throw money at!

My favorite Magnum episodes were the screwball ones. In fact, the famous "sunrise" episode bothered me a great deal. After reading how much Tom Selleck fought to tell relevant stories about Vietnam veterans, my mindset changed. It's not that he disliked showing Magnum's silly side, but he wanted America to see that the war changed those young men. PTSD wasn't formally mentioned, but now I recognize it.

Edison is notorious for jacked up rates. My city has its own utility. It’s not cheap but it’s less than half of what Edison would charge.

Re: The Bee Hive -- September 2024 Edition

My house is all electric and the highest bills are in the winter, especially when we get those really cold snaps.

Last month it was $36 because we all got a credit from some sort of regional thing that I don't even remember exactly what it was.  Probably from overpaying them in the past so I imagine we're just getting our own money back.

When I first got the notification, I thought it was a scam.

That salad looks AMAZING!!!🤩❤️

Looks like my diet will be the same for another 5 1/2 months...nothing harder to chew than a very ripe banana 🍌

I NEVER thought I'd get tired of milk shakes, ice cream, mashed potatoes and spaghetti-o's until now!  I'm basically eating mush lol.  I'm SO HUNGRY for real food!  😋😔

$36 WOW!  I would've thought the same thing too lol.  I do like it cold in here, but my electric bill is out of control in the summer.  This is a newer home too.  I don't understand it, but we've honestly had bills close to $300!
