The change of seasons is a good time to tweak a diet. I plan to focus on HEP this month and make some different choices.

BH has a salad every day for lunch. He gives me a hard time because I've stopped having salads. Some of that is because of the radiation-related changes to my diet last year.

I got into the habit of not having a lot of raw vegetables.

Today I had a salad for lunch. We went shopping for ingredients and I was assigned the task of choosing what would be in our bowls.

Kept it simple. Spinach, arugula, red bell pepper, cucumber, zucchini, grape tomatoes. BH put leftover chicken in his while I went for a few Castelvetrano olives. He made a pesto/garlic vinaigrette.

I haven't enjoyed something so much in a long time. I think I need to eat more salads!

That big salad looks good. Great if you can get fresh veggies.

Friends have been generous with their garden this summer and I've gotten some really tasty little tomatoes. They're not grape or cherry tomatoes, but they're sweet. They don't last long so I try to have some with some spinach every morning. Funny, I always hated spinach as a kid, but my mother always cooked it. When I discovered that it really has no flavor raw, I eat it all the time.

As far as changes for fall, I'm waiting to see if fall ever gets here before considering changes. That promised cool front never materialized. Just more rain, humidity, and hot temps.🥵
