It didn't take long for word to get out that you're cleared for duty.😆

Sounds like things haven't changed much in that department since you've been gone.  Just don't overdo if you don't feel up to what they want to pile on you.  Pull a Nancy Reagan and "Just Say NO!"

Well, I'll find out what I've missed in a few hours...

Then you'd better get some rest.  I have a feeling you're going to need it.

If you can't drink coffee or tea, what is there to drink?

I can't have any caffeine this morning but I want something so I'm drinking an herbal strawberry-kiwi tea.  Gak.

I had Italian mineral water with dinner last night.

Fewer options.

I wonder if I'll be able to nap this afternoon.  Doubt it.

Water.  That's mostly what I have been drinking for years.  So decent tasting water is very important to me.

Green tea is barely tolerable to me, but herbal tea is worse than drinking plain water as far as I'm concerned.  Gack

I do okay during the summer with plain water, but when the weather gets cool/cold, I want something hot and caffeinated first thing in the morning.  I guess this winter I'll be trying green tea.  With an added caffeine pill, which gives me a bit of extra energy but not to the point that I'm a crazed lunatic.

Well, no more than usual, that is.🥴😄

I had stocked a variety of tea.  The strawberry kiwi is rosehips, hibiscus, apple pieces, orange peel, strawberry pieces, kiwi pieces, strawberry flavor, kiwi flavor.

I went through a whole bag of Dragon Pearl Jasmine and most of my Tropical Green (green tea with pineapple).  Can't do plain green.

Bangkok is green tea with coconut, lemongrass, ginger, and vanilla.  Another one is green tea with lemongrass, ginkgo, citrus oil, and citrus flavor.

I also have rooibos, but it's almost medicinal.

At least the green is caffeinated!

@just bee

Yes!

I thought at first it was the caffeine that might be bothering my stomach, so I bought decaffeinated coffee (which actually tastes like...well, it doesn't taste good).  But it still got to me, so it's not the caffeine that's the problem.

It really goes back to what you said about it being a 'ritual'.  I can take a caffeine pill and get my head cleared just fine, but it doesn't satisfy me like a hot cup of something to sip in the morning.

I find that green tea will suffice if my diet is cleaner too.  Once I start back with foods that have artificial ingredients and a lot of fat--animal fat, specifically--I want something stronger like coffee.  It's weird, but yet not.

The whole diet thing ties together.  My problem is sticking with it.  After a while I feel like I'm missing out and I start imagining all this delicious junk food.  Then I eat some and it doesn't tast worth a cr@p.  That's the part I have to remember before I eat it.

Speaking of junk food...

BH brought home some Kettle Chips a few weeks ago and we both decided that they're disgusting.  How much oil do you need in a bag of potato chips?  The chips were coated and shiny.  Actually had to toss the really drenched ones and blot the others.  Most of the bag ended up in the trash.

Were they always like this or is this something new?

Good luck tonight Bee. Don’t be afraid to say no to something your no ready to do yet. And ask for help if needed.

GI: I’m telling you. I’m a sworn believer in the miracle of fermented vegetables.

I’m still not much for caffeine. I drink ALOT of water. Always have. I do like some of those horrible for you flavored coffee creamers. Pumpkin spice. Coconut. Caramel.

Re: The Bee Hive -- September 2022 Edition

I haven’t had kettle chips in a long time so I can’t recall.

My chip vices are nacho Doritos and Ruffles cheddar and sour cream. 🥴 I read a long time ago that one of the additives in winter vetoes is known to trigger addictive cravings. 🤣 Yup.

My cat likes Cheetos. 😂 And cheesy popcorn. 🤣
