Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2024 Edition

@Lucky Charm

Well, of course, I had to check out the Funny Farm website and meet the critters.

Sounds like a worthy operation.  They have a big wishlist -- Amazon and Chewy.

Speaking of absent Hive members,we haven't heard from @aprilskies lately.  I hope she's okay, or better yet, off having a great adventure somewhere!

I've been hoping to see a post.

It's a little late according to the calendar, but fall is here--for one day, anyway.   Beautiful clear skies, dry air, and cool temps.

The downside is I now have no excuse to put off some of the work that needs doing.  Unless I procrastinate until tomorrow when it starts to get hot again...

@geezerette

We should get a break here, too, today.  Then it'll start warming up again.

In Medford, where @bikerbabe  is heading, it was 94 yesterday but will be 81 today.

Someone needs to tell Mother Nature that it's officially fall.  Enough of these summer days already.

We're only about 5-10 degrees warmer than "normal" (whatever that is now!) for this time of year.  But it feels hot.  We don't cool down to what I consider fall weather until at least the middle of this month.  I always felt the season officially arrived when the hummingbirds left.

Days like today that literally change seasons overnight from hot and humid to cool and dry do a number on my sinuses, as if I needed more aggravation from them.  Yesterday I was sleeveless, this morning I need a jacket.

It's freezing here (if you ask me).  Definitely fall weather.  We've had a lot of cloudy days.  Big, mean looking clouds.  I love cloudy days though, especially in the summer.

@just bee  Yeah, I have their Amazon wishlist up.  The kiddie pools aren't listed.  I see a need for them, it's what they use now.  I just want them to start fresh.lol.  I'm concentrating on the piggies, first.  I doubt if I rolled up with 10 pools they'd turn me away.  I'm meeting my friend for brunch on Friday and I'm going to pick her brain.  She knows pigs....Woman Very Happy

Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2024 Edition

There's another rescue about an hour away called Rancho Relaxo NJ.

I plan on visiting Rancho Relaxo sometime this month.  They, too, have a wish list.  I don't think they have as many animals as the Funny Farm.  FF you just show up, Rancho Relaxo, appointment only or something.

I was glad to see the dozen of volunteers working at FF.  The owner was really cool, hands on, not afraid to get dirty.

I petted everything I was allowed to and even the horses before I saw the sign that they may/do bite.Woman Surprised

Probably. Woman LOL

I remember when I got home from a day at Marine World/Africa USA back in the 70s and I smelled like goat and water buffalo.
