Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2024 Edition

@viva923   I know I've heard of White Clay, Red Clay and Churchman's Marsh.  Don't know rte 9, I don't think.  I usually use 95 and 295 to get to Maryland.  Reedy Point bridge you mentioned and I that doesn't sound family.  I know the Senator Roth bridge.

Don't know if I'll make it to my dad's tomorrow or later this week.  Cooked a chicken and am cooking a roast beef now to take some to him.

I hope your foot is doing good!Heart

Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2024 Edition

My husband and I went to a animal rescue place about 40 mins away in Mays Landing.  Called the Funny Farm.    So many animals.  Over 600!  But that included birds, too.

All very friendly.  I mean mules, horses and goats would follow you around like a housepet would.  Peacocks, turkeys, dogs and feral cats.

So my heart went to the pigs.  About a dozen.  Rescued because they were overfed to unbelievable obesity.  You weren't allowed to feed them.  Or they had other medical issues, one looked like it didn't have eyes.  Woman Sad  My friend is at dinner right now with a girl who has two huge pigs and I know she's visited this place.  I can't wait to hear her take on the pigs at this place.

The visit was free, but we gave a donation.  They do have an amazon wishlist.  Needless to say, I have 10 hardshell kiddie pools in my cart at Ace Hardware to send to them.  And a huge Rubbermaid tank (150 gal.) in a Tractor Supply cart.  I'll ask them beforehand, if these will be helpful.  From today's visit, I think it would be of a great help.

These animals have my heart!

Yeah, heat wave in Calif.  Upcoming visit.  Arrive early Sunday.  Concert Monday.  Hopefully, by dusk, temps will be a bit better?  Last time I was at the Greek Theatre, had to run in Urban Outfitters for a sweater.  C-o-l-d.  For May.

Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2024 Edition

So, I had oatmeal cookies and decaf at my dd's house this evening in honor of National Cookie Day...

Actually, we had no clue about the day until I texted her after looking here in the hive. My cookie eating was just a happy coincidence. haha

Speaking of absent Hive members,we haven't heard from @aprilskies lately.  I hope she's okay, or better yet, off having a great adventure somewhere!

Re: The Bee Hive -- October 2024 Edition

It's a little late according to the calendar, but fall is here--for one day, anyway.   Beautiful clear skies, dry air, and cool temps.

The downside is I now have no excuse to put off some of the work that needs doing.  Unless I procrastinate until tomorrow when it starts to get hot again...
