Thanks for *listening*!

I just went through my expenses for the month like I do every month, and while I knew I had been spending more overall I had no idea just how much more I've been dishing out. Even discounting what I've spent on the car and the taxes for it, a lot more has gone out the first half of the year than I had intended.
Too many "just this once" buys, and a whole lot of stuff (mainly from Walmart, which includes food) that I just have been automatically reaching for for years. Now all that stuff is more expensive every time I shop.
Well, that's got to stop. I've got to drastically tighten my belt or I won't have any belt left by the time I need it in another few years.
And I have everybody's annual vet visits and shots in the next two months too. Boy, has it gotten expense to have even cats anymore! This is definitely going to be my last dog, and quite possibly cats as well, just from the expense aspect. At least the dog is in that sweet spot of her life that she's finally turned into a wonderful dog. I'll enjoy it before she gets old and cranky.
Like me. 😒

@geezerette Yeah, my harsh reality is starting my own individual pay Blue Cross for the state of NJ effective tomorrow.
Husband's group plan carried me until today, I wanted/needed insurance specifically for my *new* state.
Would've been over $1800/month for the luxury of any state (going back to my familiar drs), but with long drives, gas prices and worrying about bad weather---nope.
Just tried emailing my new agent at BCBS and got the messsge
'Out of the Office'......
.....December 29, 2021, but will be back in office December 30, 2021.
Oy.
ETA: Called her and her voice mailbox was full. Gave a prompt to speak to another agent and guess who answered?
Mentioned to her about email out of office thingy and she put me on hold f.o.r.e.v.e.r that it bumped her off the system for being off her computer so long and had to log back on.
Waited till end of call to tell her that her voicemailbox was full, too.
Again, oy.

Oy, is right! That doesn't sound encouraging at all.
It's tough to have to get your own individual health insurance. I've had people tell me that they didn't like Medicare because they were getting better individual insurance for less money. I don't know where they were getting it because I sure never could.
Good luck. And don't get sick or hurt until you can reach a real human being!🤞

Good thing, too. Just about fed up with June.
If it hadn't been for the stretch of cool, wet weather, this month would have been a total write-off.

It's sad to think that what brings us the most joy -- our pets -- will just be a thing of the past like so many other aspects of our lives.
You love her!
Say it loud! Say it proud!

Keep us updated!
We all know what it's like to care for a pet and how challenging it can be sometimes. Just know that you're doing everything in your power to make them feel like they're family and that they have a home where they're loved.
