Re: The Bee Hive -- June 2021 Edition

We are starting to really heat up! We seldom get rain here. The eastern side of CO gets it all and of course the mountains. We never see water much at all. It would shock me!
Hoping the pollen comes to rest because my windows turn green on the outside...

Just glad I got my shot before going to Vegas. This may be the last time we go if the city isn't cleaned up! The Venetian is very nice but we like to roam...
We will see🧐....
Brisk out for a bit....very quiet where I am at.

@Brisky, I hope you really enjoy Vegas.  Sounds like a nice getaway. Dont worry too much about things, just enjoy. It would be so nice to get away for awhile. Win lots of money. Then you dont need to worry about the lottery.

Have a great time.

We got rain all through the weekend. It wasnt torrential though and certainly no hail the size of golf balls. yikes. I like the rain. Gives me such a good reason to just put put around.

@just bee I hope this is okay  to post here, looks like fun.

I have to confess a habit I've had for many years and my late DH thought it was funny (in a kind way): I absolutely MUST make my bed before I get dressed.

I can't remember when it started but even today I started to get dressed and stopped because I hadn't made the bed! I laugh at myself for this but I figure it's not hurting anyone, right? Feel free to laugh, it's ok!

@Love my grandkids, too funny.  I developed this habit years ago. I use to be that person that left the bed crumbled all day and made it right before going to sleep. I like to get into a made bed. But all day the room would look so messy so then I started making it as soon as I woke up and have continued it to this day. I dont leave the room until it is made. Unless I am super late or it is an emergency, I cant leave it undone.

Some habits are great. Now if I can get these good habits going in other areas of my home, I would be set.

@aprilskies I'm with you. I recall a couple of times in the past when DH and I were in a hurry to get DS to school and us to work that I/we just didn't make the bed.

Ugh! I came home and before I even changed my clothes I made the bed. It just made the whole house seem messy!

If you suspect any hail damage to your roof be sure to call your insurance company.  They can inspect it and they will replace it.  Ours did when we had a hailstorm.

Re: The Bee Hive -- June 2021 Edition

Hullo!!!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Two days were crazy with rain and WIND.  Unbelievable wind!  It's always at least breezy here, but the wind was terrible.

We didn't have the kids/grandkids this weekend.  They went to their place in the Poconos.  (It poured there, too.)  Would have all gone stir crazy being in the house for 2 full days.  We didn't have any company this weekend.  Still getting settled in for the summer/fall.

I walked the beach at low tide (8-ish) this a.m and was overdressed.  Seriously considered tying my jacket at my waist and just wearing my bra with my pants. LMAO

So we went out on the boat at noon time and I changed into much cooler clothes and FROZE M.A.O on the bay.

Can't win.

I laid on the seat with a beach towel covering me.  Had my jacket with the hood up.  Used my floppy sun hat to keep the hood up.  Hands in pockets to keep them warm.  And laid there and prayed we wouldn't be out for too long.  Came home and took a loooong hot shower.

We had some really low temps at the Jersey shore this weekend.  I think it was a record breaker?  Upper 40's and low 50's.

I am one who loves HEAT and I don't even mind humidity.  (You will never hear my complain about humidity.  Ever!)

Warm weather on the horizon.  Bring it!  (And some rain, too.  I love rain.)

Ugh.  Right now it's 79, overcast with a chance of rain.  But this weekend we'll start a stretch of days in the 90s.

@geezerette

Okay, I hesitate to post this because it's almost too humiliating.

We've been discussing how spaced out we've been lately and I think I just won the spaced trophy.

Instead of sleeping yesterday, I went to the polls to vote.  In the special congressional election.  For District 1.

I don't live in District 1.

And on some level I know that.  Because I chose to live in a district that wasn't District 1!

But there I was, on autopilot.  It's an election... must vote... must do my civic duty... must vote...

Well, of course, I didn't -- I wasn't eligible.  Wasted trip.

So try to top that one, G.
