It's glorious this morning...for July. Lower humidity and temperature. What a relief for a change.
A gift.
Makes a difference, doesn't it?
Cooling down here, too, and we're getting rain in the evenings.

Oh my word, yes! It almost felt a little like the first touches of fall, but that's just my pipe dream in July.
It was great until the a/c guy showed up and had a leak in whatever the heck he was pumping into the unit and stunk up the whole house. Gave me a headache. I only hope the cats are still alive in their hiding places under the bed.
I'll be opening all the windows as soon as he's done and gone. 🤢

Between this service call and the original, I'm out $1,600+. And that's with getting the part for free under warranty and a discount on the whole bill because I have a maintenance contract with them. Which will probably cost me another $500+ this fall when it comes due again.
I remember when an entire new air conditioner and furnace wouldn't have cost that much.

Exactly. I was listening to a tech at work last night listing his expenses (mortgage, truck payment...) and now I know why these guys are working five shifts a week and working other jobs, too.
Insanity.

I'm beginning to sound like my father. "I remember when a loaf of bread was a nickel." And that was back when a nickel was actually worth five cents. (I do remember when a loaf of bread was .21 because I could get four penny candies when my mother sent me to the corner little store for a loaf.)
But when I start saying, "I walked to school uphill both ways", I'm in real trouble!🤣
