@viva923 , just saw in the other thread your latest medical report. Praying they can do the minimal amount of intervention, with best results for you. It's good of you to keep us posted, with all the stuff going on for you right now. Whatever course you and your team take, you'll be your innately spunky self and will surmount, of that I'm sure!

hey all
so wait for discharge later this week
make appt with dr kristen to set up this surgery-from what i understand it will be in office procedure, don't know if i will go home on antibiotics or just say nuts and let things go tills surg
the toe right now will be cut at first knuckle- BUT WAS INFORMED this afternoon if dr.kristen see the infection has spread she will take whole toe to save foot-so that means i will become an invalid till something can be found to help me walk again. the infectious disease dr says the whole toe looks infected
so i guess the doctors are getting together to figure out what to do next-
i should be released by the weekend.

not much today
told by head RN on rounds today
pick line will be installed-head RN said what is hold up on getting me out of here- she said my case is turning so slowly-
well drs have been in-to get out of this place i have to have an amputation-right now it will be up to first knuckle- but infectious disease dr said the whole toe looks infected-does not look good-she said it was the wire or rods the metal that was inplanted in 1st surgery most likely caused the infection. so now we wait for. infectious disease dr to get in touch with dr. kristen to tell her ok to amputation just to get out of this place. i told her i will not be an invalid i refuse to be that-
now we wait to see who gets back to us first-this is all hinging on what dr kirsten says
Oh @viva923 I hope you've heard some more news now.

This is not at all the news we were hoping for.☹️
And you must be on pins and needles waiting for a definitive answer from all these different doctors. Of course we all hope for a less-is-best approach, but with all the trouble you've had with that foot, it will be best in the long run to get all the infection out once and for all. I've been worried for a quite a while that one of these times that infection will progress further than your toe and foot and that could be disastrous.
You've got to be horribly upset about this news, but get that idea of being an invalid right out of your head! The main concern is to get your body infection-free. You may have a period of recovery, but I'm sure you'll be able to get back to your regular activities with some adjustments.
Please know we're all wishing you the best.❤️

Somehow I can't picture you and "invalid" in the same room.
Remember The Beach Boys.
Round, round, get around, I get around, yeah
Get around, round, round, I get around (ooh-ooh)
I get around (get around, round, round, I get around)...
You will continue to get around and do what you do. You're a fighter.
You'll still put all of us to shame!
