Alison Friend - Artist - ⭐️PRINT EXCLUSIVE!!!⭐️ 'Hat Generations' is now available as a print with @thegalleryholt in a very limited edition of 50! This print will not be available anywhere else.

I'm going to need a hat like that this week.  Frigid temps and sleet, freezing rain and snow again.

Winter is back.👎

@geezerette

Two weeks ago, it was in the 70s here.  Now, apparently, our drip system has frozen.

Unfortunate.

@just bee

Oh geez.  I hope not so bad as to burst any water lines.

They're talking about temps in the teens with wind chills in the negative teens here this week.  That kind of cold makes me nervous.  I hope they're overestimating how cold it will actually get.

At least it should only be for a few days this time.  Next weekend in the 50s and 60s.  Of course, that means thunderstorms this time of year.  We had some doozies yesterday.  Thunder that sounded like a bomb going off.  Thankfully no lightning damage.

This is really getting old.  But then, so am I.

Friday night at work was also unfortunate.  Two nurses called in so I ended up being in charge.

I dislike that role.  Intensely.  I've always preferred a supporting role.

Stayed late to deal with some issues and, by the time I was ready to leave, I grabbed what I could and headed for the door.

It wasn't until yesterday, at some point, I realized I left the only good thing behind.

One of the techs' sons showed up with flowers in vases for each nurse.

I left without my roses.  It was such a thoughtful gift and now I feel bad.

Oh my gosh--what a thoughtful gesture! ❤️

Aren't we all? Woman LOL

Inconvenience becomes even more inconvenient as we age.  I'm certain I couldn't live anywhere now that has challenging weather.  Too cranky to deal with Nature.

We have someone coming to the house on Tuesday to check things out.

Winter started out so mild that we kept the drip system on for the warmer days.

Guess we'll see...

I know.  Her boys are good kids.

I wasn't there last week when she had to put down another one of her dogs (cancer -- a complete surprise).  She wept when we lost WGD.

She can't go through this anymore.  She still has this dog's brother and it's the first time she has had just one dog in the house.  She says she's done.

Of course, we'll see about that.

It probably will depend on her age and home situation.  The pain is still too raw right now to think about another.

But my friend just said the same thing the other day when she was here getting some of Carla's things for her own remaining dogs.  She says she's just had too much hurt in her life and can't through it again.  But she's only 60 this year so I hope she'll change her mind at some point.  Partly so I'll continue to have doggies to visit...😉☺️

Re: The Bee Hive -- February 2025 Edition

It's Presidents' Day weekend in New Mexico.

Fascinating how it is referred to in different states.  Several different names.

Just volunteer to dog sit for anyone that has a dog you like. 😉

They'll jump at the chance to take you up on it.

@viva923

We just had that frog-strangling rain and will be getting the winter version of it this week.

Hopefully the freezing rain will fall someplace other than my area.🤞
