Re: The Bee Hive -- February 2025 Edition

@just bee  I had a friend that always said that Afghan Hounds were so dense that they could get lost on the end of their leash.

And a big no to any corded dog. You do not bathe them you just soak them in a big tub of water up to their ears with a gentle swish or two!

Sounds just like the usual Rottweiler descriptions. 😉

And then there are the ones in the "Good Dog" category....

She's determined to be a lap dog : r/Rottweiler

A well-bred and properly raised Rottie will be calm and confident, courageous but not unduly aggressive. The aloof demeanor these world-class guardians present to outsiders belies the playfulness, and downright silliness, that endear Rotties to their loved ones. (No one told the Rottie he's not a toy breed, so he is liable to plop onto your lap for a cuddle.)

The Afghan Hound is a special breed for special people. A breed expert writes, 'It's not the breed for all would-be dog owners, but where the dog and owner combination is right, no animal can equal the Afghan Hound as a pet.'

There are different ways to interpret that. Woman LOL

To be fair, in California we lived near a high school where sighthounds and their owners would gather for lure coursing.

The Afghans were impressive.  But I admit I prefer a "meatier" breed.

Speaking of sporting events, we just made a Costco run.

So what happens if the weather doesn't clear up?

Cancel the race?

Suffering from cabin fever. I'm the kind of person who has to be outside, even if it's a walk around the house. Well, after eight inches of snow, followed by wind and extremely cold temps, I can't get outside. There's nothing on TV either. DH is watching some old shows that he pulled up on the History Channel. I've learned more than I need to know about ghost ships!

Postpone?

It's got to be awfully bad for them to cancel.  I imagine they'll wait all day if need be.

I get like that when it snows a lot.  I get claustrophobic just knowing I can't get out, even if I have nowhere to go!

Getting late.  And it's going to get dark.
