@just bee    How do you carry all of your "stuff"?  I usually leave my handbag at home and use a small Lori Grenier magnetic pouch that attaches to my waistband.  That leaves me hands-free and not likely to get mugged.

I have a tote that holds everything I need for work.  But on my days off I use a small wallet with a clip that hooks onto a belt loop -- then I just stuff the wallet in my pants pocket.  At work, it's in a scrubs pocket.

Holds any cards I need, occasional cash and a couple work keys.

I've learned to travel lighter!

I've had this thing for several years and am always on the lookout for something similar to replace it.

Fingers crossed you don’t lose power.

I carry a tote to work. Nothing fragile or expensive for obvious reasons. 🤪 Everyday, I use a clutch since I don’t usually carry much with me. If I’m doing much walking/shopping I switch to a purse with a strap for a bit more security.

We’re headed to the beach for the upcoming weekend.

Is that the thing with sand and lots of water?

Are you ready for the storm?

@just bee    I don't have to do anything to get ready.  I do have a snow shovel somewhere.  I usually use the solar self-melting method of removal.

I'm looking forward to some snow.  They just showed the Santa Fe mountains on the news.  They look very foreboding.  Its on the way.

I was just in the yard.  It's cold and the birds look nervous.

Re: The Bee Hive -- February 2022 Edition

I didn't run my errands today (bank and Total Wine) but chose, instead, to putter.

Washing a load of towels, paying bills, listening to Swing (for another minute and then I'll switch to talk radio), and thinking about baking some cookies.

Just cleaned the kitchen so I figure it's time to filth it up again.

Re: The Bee Hive -- February 2022 Edition

I just received two emails: One from Harney & Sons and one from New Mexico Tea Company.

Clearly someone is concerned that I haven't been ordering tea.

I'm working through my collection and I've introduced a coworker to teas from both companies.

I kinda like the message from New Mexico Tea Company.

Good day!

Tea plants anywhere north of the equator are dormant right now. Perhaps this winter more than any other the idea of dormancy feels entirely relatable and timely.

While dramatic growth is arrested, an organism is allowed to quietly thrive in times of nutrient shortage. By conserving resources and energy, the roots continue developing until more favorable conditions arise. Flourishing takes a different, more subtle form beneath the surface.

The plant is equipped to endure trying conditions. However, some thoughtful pruning and nutrient application can encourage even more fanfare when a new growing season is triggered.

So, in celebration of dormancy and all the potential that it allows, we encourage you to fortify and congratulate. Tend to your needs and cultivate your roots. Prune the inessential and organize the resources you have. Acknowledge your progress. Include yourself when showering your loved ones with support and affection (oh, and tea, as our Valentine Collections have returned)!

I like the tone of this.  I think I'll order from them when I find myself dangerously low on sturdy black tea.

Which should be soon.
