Better get on that!

Re: The Bee Hive -- December 2023 Edition

Brisk, back in the hive....
Freezing and cold here.

I would be upset too if I were you @just bee! I am not a patient
person in certain situations! My father knew I lacked it. I have had to slow down what I really think because it's a virtue I really don't have😖

Hope you get through to them soon.

Same old same old here. Just going to T J Max to look for turtle necks today and get a haircut. Trim only.

Hope everybody is trying to hang as loose as possible.... It does get darned hard at times! 🙄
Brisk out and about on kind of a snowy day.....

@just bee  @bikerbabe.  I've seen other facilities advertise having nurse navigators and have wondered how they could possibly have that many nurses assigned to non-clinical duties.  It would take an army of nurses.  They talk about severe shortages.

Re: The Bee Hive -- December 2023 Edition

You see nurse navigators most often in oncology settings, because of the extended treatment timeline and the number of different providers involved.

The ombudsman is a possibility if he handles outpatient in addition to in-patient. That’s not always the case. 🥴

Hopefully whoever put it in your port, had the common sense to use one that doesn’t have a metal that interferes with MRI. Different manufacturers have different materials but it should be a no-brained for a cancer patient. “ should” 😅

I'll keep this short.

So, after calling the hospital several times this week and not getting a call back, I came home this morning to a letter informing me that my provider has ordered a Radiology Imaging Procedure for me.

It continues:

We have made attempts to contact you to schedule this appointment; this will be our final notice.

Ah-hem.  I called on Monday.  I called on Tuesday.  Said they'd call me back.  They did not.

Called on Wednesday.  Said they would call me back.  Shortly.  They did not.

I called them again seconds after reading this letter.  I was told my case is still in review.

They're still trying to figure out what to do about the port in my chest?  You're telling me that I'm the first cancer patient there who needs an MRI but has a port?

I was told to call again tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow is Saturday.  No one will be able to take that call.

@just bee such haphazard communication; how terribly frustrating for you.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I will pray that they get their act together and come up with a medically sound course of treatment.

And of course that you are able to schedule your appointment without further delays and runarounds.

You will be in my prayers.
