Re: The Bee Hive -- December 2021 Edition

Well, I have ditched the milk duds! I haven't had to make a special stop for them. I just nixed it in the bud. Plus, I am trying hard to avoid sugar since DH's mild stroke a couple years ago now. Sugar free pies really are gross. Still drink coffee with sugar and cream. So our days of beef have gone away too. 😕 I am beginning to think every thing I eat now revolves around chicken.
I think I will continue to cheat a bit in moderation....that's
definitely compromising. I didn't have the stroke .
The doctors said my husband's stroke was caused by a hereditary mutated gene.

New topic...I find buying on line next to impossible when it comes to clothes. Brand buying is hard to figure out. Each line is totally different... yep, I notice cheaper fabrics too. We just got a Dillard's here.....I will check that out. I have to try it on first.
Shopping is not my strong suite.....I really don't like it anymore.
Anyway, going to get cleaned up. DD and I are going to Ulta today. She is the shopper....

Hang loose everybody or try to....
Brisk out.......

@just bee   So sorry you lost those "memories" in the fire. That's awful. I journal every day and have since maybe high school. Have hundreds of journals in the attic, but important ones like the year we were married, years when kids were born, etc. are in fire file...just in case.

@geezerette

I saw one of those online slideshows: Dog Breeds That Senior Citizens Should Avoid At All Costs!

The Rottweiler was one.  But they were all breeds I like!  Even Greyhounds were on the list.

Disqualifiers were things like size, energy level and ability to shed whole dogs in a day.  I guess Greyhounds are prolific shedders.

@just bee

I agree with that one, for sure.  In fact, it's a breed that most people should avoid.  Period.  But it's amazing how many people would like one.  Or say they would.

But I can't believe a Greyhound would shed more than my monster.  Geez, Greyhounds hardly have any fur to begin with.

Speaking of shedding, has WGD been shedding more than usual this winter?  Carla and the cats have.  They stopped as usual when the weather started to cool, then they all began shedding like it's summer again.  The long-haired cat has hairballs again, which he doesn't have during a normal cold winter.  I bathed Carla and brushed her and still couldn't get all the loose hair off.  My friend said her dogs are back to shedding a lot too.  We just assumed it was our warmer than normal weather.

@geezerette

I don't know where all this fur is coming from.  We brushed him, bathed him then brushed him again and there's still hair everywhere.

He never stopped shedding this year.  We can pluck tufts off his b_tt.

We're having a mild winter, too, so that probably has something to do with it.

Doesn't explain why I'm shedding...

A super shedder event.

Ooh -- I haven't been inside Dillard's in years.   One of the few remaining department stores here.

Wow!  Congrats to you!👏

I'm about done with all the extra food I had left over from Thanksgiving.  Then I have to tackle my cream and sugar habit too.  And other forms of animal fat.

That translates into basically everything I like.😩

I remember the days when I had jobs that allowed me to leave the building and go have an actual meal somewhere.  Like at a restaurant.  Oh -- and bathroom breaks, too!

No one should ever take that for granted.
