@just bee

I've given up experimenting with tea flavors.  I have a few I like and I've decided to stick with them.  I'm pretty basic with everything in my life I've come to realize.  Most of the experiments have not worked out well and ended up being a waste of money.  I'm not doing that anymore.  With anything.

@geezerette

That's how I felt when I discovered I'd ordered so many I really didn't like.  But I tried the two new ones -- Milky Oolong and Black Cask Bourbon -- and I really enjoyed them.

I figure I can always bring the teas that were a mistake to work.  Someone there might like them.

I hear you about cutting back on experimentation.  It can be problematic and expensive.  So now I'm starting to think I should stick to Lumene when I run out of it.  Their website has a better price and sales.  Also more variety.  The CC cream has new shades and a decent sale price at $15.99.  Not sure what shipping would be...

The one problem is the face cream I've been using for years.  The website ingredients include hyaluronic acid.  I don't recall that ever being in the product before.

Seems to be in everything now.

@just bee

I hear ya about all that.

I decided not to chase price--if I could find something that I liked.  In the end, experimenting to find something workable and cheap has cost me more than if I just stuck with what I liked.  The problem has been finding something I liked.  And that stayed that way with the same ingredients.

And I want simplicity.  Easy to get, easy to use, easy in that the products stay available.  Just easy.

It's been pretty hard to do "easy".

Reminds me of the old Jethro Tull song.

Nothing is easy
Though time gets you worrying
My friend, it's okay
Just take your life easy
And stop all that hurrying
Be happy my way

When tension starts mounting
And you've lost count
Of the pennies you've missed
Just try hard and see why they're not worrying me
They're last on my list

Nothing's easy
Nothing is easy, you'll find
That the squeeze won't turn out so bad
Your fingers may freeze, worse things happen at sea
There's good times to be had
So if you're alone and you're down to the bone
Just give us a play
You'll smile in a while and discover
That I'll get you happy my way
Nothing's easy

@viva923

That's something I don't think I could do.  Pack up and move to a new place -- over and over again.  Even though I've done it.

Off the top of my head, I think I've had seventeen addresses.  I've been here longer than I've been anywhere else.

Maybe I'm stuck here because I've moved so many times.  I just wanted a place that felt like home.

@just bee

I'm stuck here but it doesn't feel like home.

But nowhere is going to feel like home for me now, so I might as well be stuck here.  Despite what many may think about this place, I could do worse.

@geezerette

Maybe this feels different because it was one of four addresses that I actually chose.  All the rest were chosen for me.

BH said the other day that now that we don't have WGD, we can start traveling and see other places.

But then he said that maybe we shouldn't because we might see how truly awful it is here.

I can't help think that everywhere has the same issues.  At least we have big skies, mountains, interesting flora and fauna, a nice climate and... give me a minute.  I'll think of it.

BH could be right, but in my experience (back in the Dark Ages when we still travelled) I found the opposite to be true.

After being at home for a while, every other place sounded like Nirvana.  At first all I could see were the good things.  But when I had experienced the area for a while, I found a whole lot of things that were worse than my home.  No matter where we were.

Sure, there are always some things that are more attractive than where you are.  And if those outnumber your present situation, it's definitely a consideration.  It all depends on your priorities.  And as you know, priorities can change.🤷‍♀️

[ Edited ]

I can say one good thing about this summer.

The crape myrtle looks fabulous this year.  Not only in our yard, but all over the city.

Seeing lots of butterflies, hummingbirds and bees this season.

If I wasn't working it would be easier.  We could move to that "small town."

But that small town better have a hospital, cancer center and an affordable home.

So far, that doesn't exist.
