BH could be right, but in my experience (back in the Dark Ages when we still travelled) I found the opposite to be true.

After being at home for a while, every other place sounded like Nirvana.  At first all I could see were the good things.  But when I had experienced the area for a while, I found a whole lot of things that were worse than my home.  No matter where we were.

Sure, there are always some things that are more attractive than where you are.  And if those outnumber your present situation, it's definitely a consideration.  It all depends on your priorities.  And as you know, priorities can change.🤷‍♀️

If I wasn't working it would be easier.  We could move to that "small town."

But that small town better have a hospital, cancer center and an affordable home.

So far, that doesn't exist.

@just bee

They do, but probably not in a place you'd want to live.

Southern Oregon but it depends on what someone feels is affordable housing. Less than SoCal but more than South Dakota. 🤪

I’m not sure how affordable any housing is because areas that promote lower home prices also usually have lower salaries and some of those places have also jumped in price.

Me: I just have too much on my plate and I need help.

Strange you should mention that.  BH has been looking at home prices in (very) Northern California and (very) Southern Oregon.  He jokes that we could sell our house and move there.

His brother had left Oregon a few years ago and now Tennessee isn't working out.  I guess they will never adjust to that climate.

They're thinking of heading back to Oregon.  And there may be plenty of room.  I keep seeing Oregon plates here... Woman LOL

Any way to get some of that off your plate so you can concentrate on other things?  Or is everything urgent right now?

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!

BH and I had been searching for Little League games and we'd concluded that TV coverage wouldn't start until the middle of the month.

I just looked at ESPN and there are two games scheduled, starting at noon!

I may have to watch...

Medford put in a big new cancer center. I think it just opened. It’s a medical hub for southern OR/NorCal. Lots of cute little towns in the surrounding area and no major traffic driving. Medford itself isn’t the prettiest town, but there are some very pretty places in the area.

Including where I’m headed. 🤣

Political affiliation is mixed in southern Oregon.

Red in eastern Oregon but boy it’s hot and dry over there: a lot of cattle country and open nothing. Can get really cold in the winter. It’s a more arid climate.

Large tourist illustrated map of Oregon state | Vidiani.com | Maps of all countries in one place

I'm familiar with Oregon but know the areas around HWY 5 and the coast much better than the eastern half.  I used to visit Ashland because of the theatre festival.  When I was a kid, we'd drive from California, through Oregon and Washington to British Columbia.

A close friend moved to Bend and my brother moved to Lake Oswego and then Beaverton.  BH's brother lived in the Medford area.

My parents' favorite Chinese restaurant was in Roseburg.  BH and I got stranded at a Grants Pass diner when we hit pea soup fog one night.

Never got to Tillamook as far as I can recall... Woman LOL

[ Edited ]

New Mexico and Texas East are facing off -- top of the 7th, tied 2-2.  Not televised, so I'm keeping eyes on the score online.

The ABQ team is 1-1 right now.
