Two more homicides today!  That's 6 so far this week!

The count:

78 per ABQ Police Department (APD)

80 per Murder Mike (he tracks homicides, overdoses, suicides attempted and completed, domestic violence, number of people "found down" and so much more)

87 per a retired ABQ Police officer who also keeps track

I tend to go with Murder Mike's numbers.

So I move to Albuquerque and this has become my hobby.  People are still moving here.  I realize you don't have to go to a library anymore to do research, so why are they still coming?  There's plenty of info on the Internet.  Are they coming from places that are worse?

@just bee

In a word, yes.

And they can't wait to change Albuquerque into exactly what they left.

Now that's scary.

@viva923
I promise you, the house will be fine for a couple of weeks. The priority is your recovery, not house cleaning. 💕 And other family members can help you for awhile.

@Brisky
Do you have diverticulitis? Hope you’re better.

I worked last night. Wasn’t planned. We’re starting to fill up again. 😠 Pretty much all unvax. I think one elderly lady who is vax. Last night someone said LA is starting to see some nursing home cases again. 🤯

I accepted the job change provided they agree to one stipulation. Still trying to wrap my head around how to best handle it with DH.

Didn’t weigh in July and eating was so-so. Frustrated at the scale. Weighed and I still managed to lose 5 lbs. 😂 I still have a lot I want to lose. And still off BP meds except a couple of doses this past month. When I manage my anxiety and stress, my BP is fine and at most only elevated by a couple of points.

Work this weekend.

I have a bathroom to clean.  It's a daunting task.  The smallest room in the house.  Yet it's such a huge undertaking.  It's the *getting started* that's stopping me.  Woman LOL

Re: The Bee Hive -- August 2021 Edition

Thanks geezerette, I gave up on my stomach about 20 years ago. Sometimes good and sometimes it's a real pain. You never know when it's going to hit.Very unpredictable.

Our crime rate has increased quite a bit here too.
We might need a Murder Mike before long. Our population is definitely increasing but the jobs have never been here! I am telling you now this little place will bust again. It ALWAYS does!
The front range has many opportunities. We don't...Never have.
People will lose their homes and businesses here. I have seen it happen before. The people who have lived here forever know this to be true.
Maybe things will change but no big Industry here😑

Well hang loose all... Brisk out to drink coffee because I need a kick to get moving....

@bikerbabe, I am made of mesh from my pubic bone to right beneath my chest. From a Surgery that went wrong 20 years ago. It's a long story... When things go wrong...
There is no going back sometimes.... Life manages to go on... 😐 That's about all I have to say...about that. My stomach acts and looks like a battlefield. I suck it up and go on....

@viva923, crazy neighbor! I feel for those children! I wouldn't treat my dog that way.
We weren't aloud to speak that way either. My parents made the rules and we had to follow the rules. Swearing wasn't allowed.
Bad situation! I don't like seeing children in the system but if in danger you have to do what you have to do.
Hard call...Is she beating them too? She sounds out of control...
Keep us updated...and stay safe...

@Lucky Charm

That thread is a prime example of why we can't post about almost anything here anymore and why so many threads get shut down.

Even the most innocuous subject gets contentious.  Insulting each other about anything and everything.

The moderators must be as burned out as the nurses right now.

The way things are headed around here I wouldn't be surprised if this place ceases to exist at all soon.
