@viva923

If you're sitting in one spot -- except for daily walks -- how dirty is the house actually getting other than the usual build-up of dust?

Re: The Bee Hive -- August 2021 Edition

Never fails.

I was on the fence about Alba Botanica shampoo and conditioner because I wasn't sure that I was getting better results than with the Suave products.

But every time I cruise the Beauty forums, the debate rages on: Shampoo with or without sulfates?

I like @geezerette 's strategy: Alternate products.  Keep your hair on its toes.  So to speak.

So what did I do?  I ordered the 32-ounce bottles of Alba Botanica shampoo and conditioner and I even bought a second bottle of conditioner.

Then I washed my hair and it looks a little like this:

This Morning viewers aren't convinced about girl's 'uncombable hair syndrome' - Manchester Evening News

So instead of washing it again, I just used the conditioner.  Still not that great.

The website assures me that the more I use the product, the better my hair will be.

Uh-huh.

So I will continue this alternating shampoo + conditioner, then just conditioner routine to see if there's any improvement.  If not, then I'm back to Suave and I'm done with experimenting with sulfate-free products.

Hey!  What if Suave actually makes a decent product?  (Heads are exploding everywhere.)

More rain.  Cooler temperatures.  I am content.  When the weather is good, I am more motivated.

Went erranding and also took WGD to that dicey park across town where all the prairie dogs hang out.  The one that's so conveniently located, so close to The Chocolate Cartel.

We restocked Van Rixel Bros. gelato and sorbet.

Gelato:

Crème Brûlée Vanilla, Toasted Coconut, Campfire S'mores, Cookies & Cream

Sorbet:

Italian Limoncello. Strawberry & Lime, Summer Peach, Forest Berry, Wisconsin Cherry

BH and I are consuming responsibly.  Not eating a pint in one sitting.  Small portion in a bowl.

They just keep coming up with new flavors and there's no way we can keep up.

Re: The Bee Hive -- August 2021 Edition

@geezerette

Two more homicides today!  That's 6 so far this week!

The count:

78 per ABQ Police Department (APD)

80 per Murder Mike (he tracks homicides, overdoses, suicides attempted and completed, domestic violence, number of people "found down" and so much more)

87 per a retired ABQ Police officer who also keeps track

I tend to go with Murder Mike's numbers.

So I move to Albuquerque and this has become my hobby.  People are still moving here.  I realize you don't have to go to a library anymore to do research, so why are they still coming?  There's plenty of info on the Internet.  Are they coming from places that are worse?

Maybe they're coming for the gelato and sorbet.

Now that I can understand.

I don't know what is going on but my stomach t
urned the wrong way and I have been moaning around for two full days. Tonight it is feeling better. Cinched is what I call it.

@viva923, try to take it easy for awhile. Give yourself a break! Brisk advice....

I have laid in bed yesterday and half today.🙄 Been watching History Channel back to back. No news lately.
Yes, ratings have fallen considerably.

I am going to go and suffer in silence. Getting better but not quite right, yet...
Take care everybody....Brisk out on a Tuesday night...

Re: The Bee Hive -- August 2021 Edition

PS, John Frieda sulfate free shampoo is pretty darn good. So are the conditioners. They don't cause frizz or damage. Just a thought....

Pretty bad when you have a guy named Murder Mike on the job. Better informed then to think things are hunky dory. Now that is delusional.
See you all later...Brisk out again....

Uh oh.  I don't think it's a good idea to mention the word "dust" to @viva923! 😉

Years ago my response to your dilemma would be "just use what works, regardless of the brand".

Nowadays, even if you do find something that works, the next time you buy the exact same thing it might not actually be the exact same thing.  The ingredients could be different.  Or, if the ingredients are still the same, their ratio to one another could be different.  Or, the company could have just said the heck with it, we're gonna get out while the gettin's good and sell this company to someone else--who swears that the product is still the same, yet you know it's not because it doesn't work the same on your hair.

Or it could just be the quality of ingredients or their sourcing has changed.  It's what I find with my clothes.  I buy the same brand and type of pants as I have for at least ten years.  The company still advertises they're the same as the original.  The fabric content is the same ratio.  But they're not the same.

For example, not all cotton is created equal.  I can still have the same percentage of cotton in a garment as it started out with, but the quality of it may have changed.  Or the source country could have changed, which would affect its quality.  But will the company admit any of this?  Of course not.

So you're left to think that you're going crazy because everything is still the same as it always was, except your hair looks like a Brillo pad now.  And your conclusion is that it must be you that's changed.  Which, may be true.  Or not.

My advice today?  Just shave your head.

Of course then you'll have a hassle with shaving creams and razors.

But at least shampoo won't be worrying you anymore.

I envy your restraint.

I'd be in a diabetic coma.
