I'm really beginning to hate these...💐

Especially now.  It's hitting much too close to home.

Or in our case here, one last damaging wind before it begins all over again in May.

Although they do promise a nice dry weekend and maybe a couple of dry days next week before the next rain.

I'd better take advantage of the short dry spell and get my spraying done.  I'm about to be overtaken by weeds.  "Feed me, Seymour!" 🌱

Feed Me Seymour! |

Weeds are interesting, aren't they?

I can shell out good money for a plant; put it in a container or in the ground, carefully as to not manhandle its roots or cause undue distress; provide the perfect mix of soil, sand, and supplements; water it; give it sun and air and tender loving care...

And it struggles, then dies.

Meanwhile, weeds are pushing up concrete and asphalt and are thriving.

Why is this?

What does this say about the world?

Ha!  My plants didn't even make it 24 hours.

The morning after I planted them, I went to move the pot into the sun and the plastic cracked and split and the whole shebang went flying--pot, potting soil, and new plants.  The pot was old and I guess the weight of the wet soil was too much for it.  I was so disgusted that after I cleaned up what I could, I dumped the whole mess in the woods.

Spending the time, effort, and money definitely did not brighten up my mood.  Perhaps a lesson to continue lightening up stuff around here instead of adding more.

Still have to make up my mind about what to do about that cat, though...reality and guilt (compassion?) are still warring with each other.
