I may be in the wrong community, so appologize in advance .
There is a podcast I heard about and would like to listen to it. Do you need an App? I have a smart Tracfone. Or do I just google and listen to it?
I do not do social media, and have to interest in starting...if that makes a difference.
Obviously, I know not a thing going about finding the one I want to listen to and then actually listening to it. LOL
TIA

Hi, @Tabbycat - I don't know specificly about your particular phone, but in general, yes, you download the app....then, you subscribe to the podcasts of your interest.

You can also listen to podcasts on your computer and all Amazon Echo devices.
Google for detailed instructions. Here's a start......
"How to listen to podcasts: everything you need to know" - theguardian.com/media/2017/oct/07/how-to-listen-to-podcasts-everything-you-need-to-know <------copy/paste link.
"Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

Many times, if they have a website, the podcast link
will be embedded directly in their website.
Nothing to download & you can listen directly on their website.
Sidenote:
There’s no reason to be scared of ‘social media’.
What we are typing on...right this very second...is ‘social media’.
Podcasts are a little more specific than other platforms...
but I find them to be time intensive.
I would encourage you to see if your ‘podcast interest’ is on
YouTube where videos are generally shorter & new material
more frequent. YouTube is WONDERFUL for learning!

You're welcome, @Tabbycat and @chrystaltree! I forgot to mention, on YouTube there are video instructions, too. How to get podcasts up and going on the various devices.
Hope you're soon both enjoying your favorites. I listen to mine mostly on my iPhone with earbuds, while walking for exercise.
You will find the lists available are virtually endless.

If you are using an Android you can just google the podcast and it will most likely just take you to the website that it's posted at.
Also you can go to the Play Music app on your phone that should already be installed. At the top left are the three lines that you tap for the menu. There you'll see were you can click podcasts. Then you can search for the podcast you want. Once you find it you'll see all the episodes and you can subscribe so that you'll get a notification when a new show is there.
Also you can download an episode straight to your phone if you want to listen to it where you don't have wifi or a phone connection. I tend to do that if I want to go for a long walk and want to listen to something. Download at home while you're on wifi and then when you're out you can listen without using minutes.
And definitey the Alexa option is awesome if you have an Echo.

Hi @pigletsmom .... That " Play Music " App is the ticket for me. I'm all ready to listen to the very first episode of my first Podcast when I get settled down! Many Thanks!
