I just tried to sweep a tree frog out of the garage. One night I was lying in the couch and saw this glob on the wall. It ended up being a tree frog instead of a bat which I thought it was. Weird because I have a cat and two dogs and didn't even notice it - go figure.
@Bonkers1 I don't even know what a tree frog is. LOL. Going to google after I post this. I'm sure I won't like it as I'm not a fan of frogs in general! Not crazy about bats either. One got in my neighbors house a few years ago and my husband had to go over and get it out while my neighbor and I stayed outside!
Edited to say: oh gee, that tree frog is actually a cute little fellow!

I have no fear of tarantulas. They lived near our driveway when I was growing up, lots of them, and they didn't bother me and I didn't bother them.
The copperheads and water moccasins were another story. Quickly dispatched when sighted. We had a road runner in the pasture next door too! He was so cute.

I'm in Maryland and a couple of months back, my husband was bitten by a Copperhead.
He was taken to the hospital and given the anitvenom, which he turned out to be allergic to. Not good.
Animal control came and moved the snake as it is against the law in Maryland to kill them (have no idea what the evolution of that law might be).
He spent 5 days in the hospital.

I live in the desert and I've never seen s tarantula or a rattlesnake or a scorpion.
I've seen a couple of tarantulas here in Texas....One was in Science class, the teacher brought a live one in a cigar box. The other was at a State Park crossing a road. I've also had a Wolf Spider at my front door (they look like a blonde tarantula). I've never seen a rattlesnake, and I never hope to either! I have seen a scorpion at my cousin's house....common after new builds of which his house was one....his cat was trying to play with it...and he scooped it up with a dust pan and disposed of it.

Coincidently, the only scorpion I've seen was in your San Antonio when I was attending USAF Officer Training School. It was on the floor in a semi-dark hall where we women were walking barefooted in the dorm. It was quickly dispatched with no harm done.

@Sooner. Your mom was a pioneer for many women who followed.
