Re: THE DOWNSIDE/UPSIDE OF GREY HAIR

No downsides of going grey for me.  Two years ago, with the encouragement of my sister and help of the young woman who cuts  my hair,  I was able to go completely natural in about two months.  I have a pixie cut (and have for years).

I do not worry about roots;  I  can wash my hair every day, twice a day if I want, without worrying about the color fading.   I am not out to impress anybody and I think the natural salt and pepper coloring enables me to be comfortable with my choices of animal print eyeglass frames and artisan styled earrings.  I am more myself than when I was younger.

Re: THE DOWNSIDE/UPSIDE OF GREY HAIR

Began turning grey in my 30's.  Colored my hair for some years, then became allergic to hair dye.

A few tell me I look distinguished with grey hair rather than viewing me as being old.  Live in a state with lots of seniors, so maybe younger folks are used to seeing them take care of themselves except if they are obviously having difficulty.

I haven't seen a change in anyone's behavior towards me.

Re: THE DOWNSIDE/UPSIDE OF GREY HAIR

The upside is that my grey hair has come in looking like I frost my hair and I love it. The downside is, with the grey hair came the older looking face. I don't notice that I'm being treated any differently.

Good morning @blackhole99. Do you see an older face because you've actually aged in years while going grey or think the hair color ages you?

Opening a can of worms: Anyone following the research concerning hair dye related to breast cancer? Just say'in.

Upside fore me is I no longer add chemicals monthly to my scalp.  I am a cancer survivor of 10 years and decided no more color for me (when I was diagnosed).  No regrets.

I don't even think about having gray hair -when someone mentioned older gray haired ladies I pause and think, wow that's me!  LOL

@Shanus  Unfortunately it's the face, gravity has taken it's toll and I am not one for surgery, fillers or Botox. I'm pushing 70, it is what it is.

I'd love to find a no-odor or very low-odor temporary hair color........

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
