I remember sitting in front of the tv and watching them the first time they were on Ed Sullivan. I've been a fan ever since.

It was just on the Duluth, Mn. news this week about the anniversary of their concert in Minneapolis in 1965. So much screaming they were barely heard. I guess they had quite a rowdy party after the concert. They were told they were never welcomed back.
Paul has a concert coming to the Twin Cities this, Fall so I guess after 50 years... all is forgiven.
I know their movies were a popular hit when they came out and discussed in school who went to it, especially HELP. We all talked about who was our favorite Beetle. I think Paul was mentioned the most?

As a teenager, one could probably say I was obsessed. I remember watching them on Ed Sullivan and just swooning while my daddy just rolled his eyes. I lost the obsession when they got involved with drugs, the music didn't much appeal to me then. My favorite always was Paul and I know I had posters and those trading cards all over my bedroom. Now, my favorite is/was George; loved his gentleness. I can't stand to look at Paul now and never liked his music when he had Wings.

I was 6 years old when The Beatles made their appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. I remember hiding in the corner of our living room because I didn't want the Beatles to see me in my pj's.
There was a boy down our street, named Artie J. and he was obsessed. He got all the magazines, and fan merchandise and when A Hard Day's Night came out, a bunch of us kids were taken to the local theater to see it. We sat up in the balcony as I recall. I will still watch that movie today when I see it is playing on TCM, each song gets better and better.
I never saw them in concert. I was just a bit too young. I always considered the Rolling Stones a copy cat band and always 2nd to the Beatles.
Regarding The Doors - they were way ahead of their time I think. I really grew to like them later on.
I don't enjoy todays music. Every generation has its own music. I consider the music today like Bubblegum pop or rap which I don't care for.

OMG-- was absolutely OBSESSED with them--knew every word to the White album, Sargent Peppers, Abbey Road----had scrap books devoted to them and watched every Ed Sullivan show too. Begged and begged my mom to let me go to their concert here in Seattle too--that didn't happen tho. but did go see Paul and Linda at the King Dome in Seattle--still have the ticket stubs.

I too remember seeing them on Ed Sullivan. I was there with my brothers and we were memorized in front of our black and white TV. I always liked their music. Loved alot of the other groups...Moody Blues, Dave Clark 5. BUT I was more of a Beach Boys groupie!!! I really was saddened recently when Brian Wilson died. He was a music genius. Even Paul McCarthy said that. But either way, if you grew up in the 60's, you had the best music ever!! So many great groups and singers. Proud Baby Boomer!!

The Rolling Stones a copy cat band and 2nd to the Beatles. HARDLY. The STONES music was a lot more original and interesting than the Beatles music.

@Bonkers1 I went to England in 1969 to see them. At the time they were recording Abbey Road what a thrill when I met Ringo at the Apple Offices.
