Thank you so much! My thread is simply a warning to parents with children with peanut allergies, which can be deadly!

I lost a child due to a peanut allergy, so it's close to my heart and I only hope to spare another parent from that kind of heartbreak......it's excruciating.

@KingstonsMom

I am so  sorry, I did not know that, my heart goes out to you.

I am totally behind you in your attempt to spread the word.  I've always been shocked when some people are less than kind on lines like that.

@Noel7

Thank you so much for your kind words, they're truly appreciated.

@KingstonsMom I am so very sorry. It is a terrifying allergy, I've lived with it my whole life, with some scary trips to the ER. I am so sorry for your loss and thank you for that very important thread.  Heart

Thank you so much. It really is a terrifying allergy because it can really sneak up on you in foods, you have to be super vigilant, which I'm sure you know.

Bless you as you continue your battle and my sincerest wishes that you stay reaction free!

@KingstonsMom what IMO most people don't understand is that, as you know, it's not just reading ingredients - that is the easy part.  It's the situations where a manufacturer cross-contaminates, or doesn't fully disclose, or the stock person somewhere along the way was eating a Snickers while handling that can in a store, to restaurants that don't fully disclose (or outright lie) about what kinds of oil they use, etc.  If it were only reading ingredients.  That's the least of it.

You are So right, I wish it was only a matter of reading labels.

The instances you mentioned is how it 'sneaks' up on you.
