I know why we can't post about politics and religion or give out websites to other retailers but why are they censoring posts about a big stories that is all over thei news when other posts regarding all types of current events and news stories are allowed?  What's the difference?

Is there bickering going on between posters? If so, those will be poofed.

Maybe, I never got to read the posts but there were 3 or more separate threads on "the incident" and the mods shut everyone of them down.  All three couldn't have turned nasty.

They clearly will give the reason why ... "removed because it was argumentative" etc.

As @makena pointed out, usually moderators post a reason for closing or removing a thread.

Without a doubt, 3 (or more) can "turn nasty."   We all know that from experience here.    As @proudlyfromNJ said, the topic isn't always the cause of the problem.   Often, it's the way posters discuss it.

At any rate, after the first one was closed to comments, technically all subsequent threads are restarting a closed/deleted thread.    That, alone, is a standards violation.

I don't know why but people get all worked up and emotional about incidents that don't effect them a bit.  Sounds like they got into name calling and trading insults.  I wonder why?

As one of the original members of these boards, I certainly remember the ups and downs of bickering and censoring. There's no doubt that some of the debates degenerated into nasty attacks and unnecessary obnoxiousness. However, in my opinion, the reactions of the powers-that-be at QVC have gone a bit too far in trying to maintain decorum here. I know that's their prerogative but the result has been a more boring, less interesting bulletin board.

I've seen some, but when the bickering starts, bye bye thread.

One thread was definitely nasty, so that was closed, and as for the other two, had the potential of going the same way, so the mods decided to head it off at the pass, so to speak.

I think it is because some people just can't accept other opinions and in turn a thread ugly just because they do not agree. Discussions can be kept civil but not by some.Woman HappyHeart
