As I said in another post, most Pharmacies are understaffed.

On another note: It's been years since we have been to a mall.

I'm old enough to remember when malls and other stores closed at 6-7pm every day and were closed on Sundays.

Went to Dillards about 2 weeks ago. Usually they open at 10 now that has changed to 11. I did not notice what time they close.

Re: Store Hours

[ Edited ]

Our stores open at 10am M-S.  Sunday most stores open at 11am or noon.

Restaurants that don't offer breakfast open at 11:30 am.

One of my favorite restaurant doesn't open until 4pm on Saturday.  (Week days they have active lunch traffic.).

I finally figured out they were prepping for Saturday night; they get slammed.

Many stores have body counters on their doors which along with conforming to surrounding business' shows their corporate when they start to get busy.

I would guess that they cannot find anyone to work.

What I would LOVE TO KNOW is how do people pay their bills without working?

I believe...no, no, I know there is a whole lot of fraud happening that has surged with the pandemic. Here is a little snippet of just one case in point in my state:

The big picture: Sixty people have now been implicated in what prosecutors have called a "brazen" $250 million scheme to defraud a federal program meant to feed children in need during the pandemic. It's believed to be the nation's biggest pandemic fraud case to date.Mar 13, 2023

Those sixty people were not working retail or foodservice.

The question was "how do people pay their bills without working?"

But fraud comes in all sizes and colors. Let's talk about the "average Joe". Wrongfully obtained unemployment benefits and public assistance costs our country more than we can even wrap our heads around.

I just did a quick search and as reported by WaPo in March 2022 there had been a total of $163 BILLION in fraudulent unemployment claims due to the pandemic. Now if we add WOPA claims to that, the amount is staggering.

@Flopsy  I will be packing up and moving on later this year, too due to an increase in crime.

I moved here when it was a quiet, safe community and planned to retire here.  While I live rural and there are no malls, it no longer feels safe.

My wife does the stores, and the last time I ate out?  Guessing about 4-5 years ago. According to her, hours pretty much the same with both the aforementioned.

I was surprised to find a Macy's was open till 7 or 8 last night.  Used to be, malls closed at 5 or 6 on Sundays.  I hated that!

I loved mall shopping.  I'm gonna miss it when it's just a memory.
