Re: Stop by and Chat at the February 2018 Back Fence - nice people here

@Winifred  Was it Underwood's Deviled Ham?  It came in a small can that was wrapped with white paper.

Ma could eat pickled pig something (God help me  it was either a tail or feet, I was traumatized).  As unsightly as that was it never smelled like SPAM.

Woman LOL

@Epicurean  I'll pray for him.  Anything intestine or colon is tricky.

@RedTop  My Ma did that with ring balogna.  Well she put it through one of those hand crank meat grinders and added the same ingredients.

AHA Red Top, I do believe that is what it was. Darn the memory cells sure can go South on you can't they? I just recall I enjoyed it, Spam? Gagged when I saw the can. That did not stop Mother from buying it however. LOL.

Epi saying prayers for your son in law - seems we all seem to have challenges along the way do we not? Sometimes I feel as if no- no- no- and no. Selfish I am sure but the challenges are awesome any more. Isn't it amazing our lives seemed so less confusing when we were little. I do remember super well when my 27 year old army pilot Uncle lost his life in WWII - remember it well - October 27, 1943. The rationed food and other things but generally we were very happy children. Again Epi, my prayers are with you and yours

we are supposed to see sun today.   We had some yesterday and it was glorious.  I lifted the shades in the sunroom and  it reached 70.  The floor was so cold tho it wasnt comfortable to sit out there but it was lovely to see the sun. I'm one of those people that needs light.

Epi, is your son in law doing better. Sure hope so

very cold this morning but we headed for a little warm up this weekend. I'm glad I don't have to figure out how to dress kids for the bus stop. They peel a lot of those layers off by the time they walk by our house anyway.  They horse around chasing each other, etc that they get too warm.  Parents would probably be surprised to see what they have on by the time the bus comes.

Have a great great day everyone.  Looking firearm to the valentine treats at the bf

Whenever (HI ladies) I see "Back Fence"  it makes me think of the two women who are responsible for the "Gooseberry Patch Books".  When it tells about them, they mentioned it seems like, they were neighbors and talking over the back fence between their yards and came up with the idea about the cookbooks.  I just had to share that.  Every time I see it, LOL

Re: Stop by and Chat at the February 2018 Back Fence - nice people here

Thank you QualityGal.  That's exactly the image I see also and I think  most of us here do.  It's good to see you at the fence  and I hope you'll come back often.

We share our thoughts and hopes and troubles too, knowing we will get friendly support.   We also like to brag about our children, grandchildren and our wonderful pets.  The care these women give to their family and pets is outstanding.  The hearts are very big here.  We don't always agree but we always care.

The woman who started the Back Fence was a feisty grandma.  She brought along her Daughter and her son In Law and their children. She made us laugh and cry. Their life was never quiet. Unfortunately we lost that whole family, ily in death way too soon but those of us who were here at that time will always cherish them.  Winnifred and I have hung out at the fence the longest I think but maybe Luvs and Epi were here too.

We we love to have people stop and chat with us we cover the fence and just getting joy knowing this is a safe place.
