@Jayhawk Girl You should be proud.  I understand from others smoking is a very difficult habit to break.  I know people who love you are happy and I'm sure you probably feel better now.  It probably took awhile for it to get out of your system so you would start to feel better.

Thanks for posting because something like your post might give even one person here the knowledge to know that if someone else here did it they can do it too.  Again, thanks and Happy New Year.

You did a good thing for your body as well as social relationships....congratulations!  Please share how you stopped, I have a family member that needs some inspiration.

It was truly mind over matter. It took almost one year to think about and really act on it.  The patch helped. Good luck to your family member....it IS possible!

Re: Still no smoking

Thanks to all of you for your support. Funny, some have mentioned feeling better and I really don't feel a bit different.  The only thing I notice is I can still smell my yummy Chanel No. 5 at the end of the day!  I love hearing that so many of you are quitters, too!

Thanks again....you all are the best!

DH quit smoking six years ago at Christmas time. He didn't tell me until he was no longer smoking. He hadn't smoked in the house for a long time because of my heart problem. Best Christmas present ever. Good luck!

@Jayhawk Girl,  You Rock!  Don't go back.  I tried so many times and could not stick it out but finally I could hardly breathe and ended up in the hospital and that is when I quit.   I was very sick.  it's going on 3 years for me Dec. 31.  Yes, I gained weight but at least I can breathe.  Cat Very Happy

Good for you!Woman LOL

My former employer had been taken over by a cigarette company a while back.  Saw some sad things.

So glad you are doing well!  And think of all the money you are saving!

Wow. I never smoked, but I know my obsessive-compulsive tendencies! Had I started, I don't think I could have stopped. You have every reason to be proud. I am impressed with your accomplishment.

I'm glad you quit and that you are ok.  I have gained about 15 pounds.  I need to work on that!!!  Yuck.

Awesome!  Keep it up.  Don't break it or you'll have to start all over.
