Still hot at the Back Fence in August - Whew!!!

OK people, let's get started with shoring up the Back Fence for yet another month. And do not forget the heat will still be with us. Yuck!!! Putting some gorgeous artificial flowers around the Fence in order to save on water. Brought along some new umbrellas for shade for the tables and chairs we have sitting by the Fence. Of course there must be something to start us off this month. Blueberry bagels - of course - with some cream cheese.

Stop by and add what you want to, decorations, food or just chatter - all are welcome!!! Stay cool people.

Must say today is my oldest Grand's BD - hard to believe she turns 47 today - where does the time go?

Good Morning, Thanx @Winifred for the start, we had a little respite from the heat/humidity, but now heading back to the 90's so will turn on the a/c today. Happy B-Day to your Grand!

The bagels are delish, I brought some coffee/tea for a go with, sure hit the spot

Summer is ending up now that it's August already, where did the time go?

My tomato plants are doing very well, have had quite a few ripe ones & more to come, first year I've managed to produce, a few planted late so I hope they'll also manage to mature.

Freddie you did a wonderful job with the back fence - looks very inviting.

It doesn't feel as steamy today as it did last week. I think the heats gonna ramp up. I received my water bill and made sure I was sitting when I opened the envelope. Not as horrible as I expected it to be. I have no regrets, I can't let my trees and shrubs die. Not only that, I have wildlife to think about.

Today has been the best we have had in about 3 weeks - was it heavenly cool? = nope, not at all but a good deal lower temp and also the ugly humidity had dropped. Thanks to the elements for improving the day for us. Now we shall see what tomorrow brings.

Must have been weird on our Freeways today = saw THREE long chases by the CHP> Three in one day - that's a lot. The first which started before daybreak was two hours and a female was driving. Must admit she was a good driver. Her car, I believe, was a Subaru and was about 15 years old. It certainly behaved very well. Interesting.

Time to go to bed, actually it is later than I like but I rarely get to go to bed when I want to any more. sigh. Poor me.

Yep, that Subaru ran hot and heavy for almost 2 hours. And the lady was an excellent driver - they nailed her when she FINALLY went off the freeway and made a wrong turn into a cul de sac. She did almost knock off her rear bumper byb hitting something not any too hard but these bumpers today do not stay put. It was truly a crazy day on the Freeways yesterday.

Am bringing some coffee and this time I went to the do nut shop and picked up a bunch of goodies. Shame on me - only do that about twice a year. I LOVE do nuts but at least have the brains to not eat them often. Very yummy. The lady who started this shop is long gone - she started the Do Nut Shack in the very early 60s - did a huge business and she had to move as the owner of the small building increased her rent to where it would have broken her. She moved it and it still does well but not like it once did and then I could be wrong as the Shack use to across the Wash from me and I could see the traffic there - now it is several blocks away. Has been sold several times and to me there is a difference in the do nuts for sure. Sad.

Hello all - I paid a visit to my GI doctor this morning, before work. When they said 8 years ago that I should have a follow up colonoscopy in 8 to 10 years, they really kept track, lol. It's been a little over 8 years. I saw the PA today (first time). She asked about indigestion, heartburn and stuff like that. I said, I'm fine, just here to schedule my next colonoscopy :-)

I'm scheduled for the day after Labor Day, woo, hoo. I know you are all jealous, lol.

Well we're really heating up again with nasty humidity, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the a/c doesn't give out, it's only a few years old, but I guess I'm a worry wart & no doubt with the weather we're having getting a repair guy out will take time.

Anyway did get out to the store, will finish my bargain hunting on Friday as tomorrow is the Outlet Mall affair with the airport crew, scavenger hunt then dinner at the German restaurant, should be a fun day.

@Bird mama oh yes I'm sooo envious of you & your colonoscopy, I had mine a year ago & can't wait lol

Got a little humid here again yesterday - darn it all anyway.Temps never got into the triple digits - thank goodness for small favors - but it was hot and sticky. Hope today is better.

Ran out of bagels both cinnamon and raisin AND the blueberry bagels. Also have no cream cheese - guess I had est get busy and get some more. I love my bagels and therefore have none for myself or to share. Will try and get my act together.

Come on people, stop by - love to see familiar AND new faces here.
