Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

Mine went up, too. I raised my deductible so that lowered my premiums. I hardly drive.

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

@seaswirl,

That's awful!

Mine increased about $100 last year even though I don't drive much and never had tickets etc.

They said it was increased all thru the state.

I did get it down somewhat when they tried to look for things that would reduce it without losing coverage.

So try that because they are probably also trying to keep customers.

Just like internet and tv costs. They still hope to keep their customers so try to get it knocked down.

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

I have State Farm for my homeowners and auto.  My homeowners went up by $90 but my auto went down about $100

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

I don't have State Farm, but both my auto and house insurance increased quite a bit this past year.

The only thing that didn't go up was my umbrella policy.

I think mine stayed the same car/homeowners. By and large though, I think everything is a big rip off anymore.

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

I didn't get a letter but I got my premium notice 2 days ago and it went up $40 from last time. I pay every 6 months so that's an $80 increase for the year.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

I just paid my six months of State Farm last week and it did go up.  I assume it is age related?  Since it is linked to my homeowners and umbrella, I just paid.

I've had Allstate for years. Oddly, it didn't go up but it is already expensive.

Re: State Farm Auto Insurance

We live in NJ and got the letter last week.

They requested an increase of 23.7%, that doesn't mean that's what the state Department of Banking and Insurance will approve.  Chances are they will but we can only hope.
