I know exactly where you are coming from.
I wish she had gone to the doctor and pushed the weight loss at the beginning.
I did know from the beginning that her kidney issues were quite serious but she was "holding it".
She didn't tell me what the doctor had said, but with the severity and her refusal of chemo, I would imagine it was a no choice situation which is horrible.
I have told her DH how to get on the forums and read all of the coments and hopefully he will share that with her two adult children.
I pray reading here is a unique opportunity to give the family closure.
Oh I am so glad you did. This morning I thought what a wonderful blessing that would be to have all of this for him to veiw going all the way back to May a few years ago. When he is ready I am sure he will and I know his heart will be touched.

@ECBGThe news of Andrea's passing is so sad, she was so young. I'm sorry for your loss as a friend. Prayers to her family.

I tried to post this earlier but I guess it didn't go through.
Hello Everyone,
This is Andrea's daughter, Megan.
I want to thank you all for the kind words and thoughts for my mother and my family during this awful time. It is very much appreciated. And thank you to @ECBG for letting me know about the forum so I can read them all.
She loved clothes and makeup- both fairly new interests she came into later in life. She loved to send me pictures of her looks, music she discovered, recipes, you name it. Know that in this way you were like family to her, and a place she could go to be seen and heard and give her support.
I'm so glad to see that so many felt welcomed and supported by her. It is something she has been to many people her entire life. The service last night was full of friends of my brother and mine talking about how our home was the place they felt they could go no matter what and not be judged or sent away. What you see is what you get with Andrea, and she raised me to be the same way and for that I am forever grateful.
I know it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but I was always raised to want to know the truth of things and in that spirit I also wanted you to know the facts as it seems there has been some miscommunication here along the way.
My mother did not have cancer. She passed from a blood infection brought on by her failing kidneys and it spread. It seems that being tossed aside by her boss of over 20 years sent her into a depression and she stopped taking care of herself, but hid it from us so we couldn't intervene. She did not get a generous severance, and what he did was not ok by any stretch of the imagination.
Thank you all, again, for being a bright spot for my mother. The world is a little darker in her absence, but all we can do is brighten it up by sharing the same love, support, and compassion she was known for.
Warmly,
Megan

@AndreaTooDaughter, (Megan) I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. She was such a light here and she spoke of you lovingly in the "Outfit of the Day" thread. Any time I "talked" to her about fashion, it was always a great experience. She knew quite a bit about what looked good on people and I learned a lot from her posts. Always willing to try something new, she had what I will always remember her by....her sense of "style."
Words just cannot express how much she will be missed here. Kind, considerate about what she said to people, she was taken far too soon from this earth. I will never forget her and just wanted you to know how much she touched so many on these forums.
May she RIP and fly with the angels....

@AndreaTooDaughter Dear Megan, I write this with a heavy heart to learn of the passing to your dear Mom, Ms Andrea. You don't know me, you probably don't know many of us here but we all chatted together and that definitely included your dear Mom.
I write this here to let you know I'm sending prayers to you and to your family in this tough time accepting your loss. I hope in time you'll feel the peace now that your Mom has found. She'll be well cared for next to others who have gone before to pave her path to the Lord. Andrea is at peace now, soon you and your family will be too. Love and condolences to you all.

Dear Megan,
My heart is aching for you. The loss of a mother can sometimes be the most difficult to overcome. Please give yourself the grace needed to walk your journey of grief in your own time.
By now I hope you can see how very special your mom was to all her friends here. Truthfully we are suffering from the shock of her passing and the loss of never again being able to engage in conversation with her.
Andrea was such an open, honest, giving and funny board friend. At the same time, she had the innate ability to let someone know if their comments had crossed a line--but always done with maturity and kindness. I so admired her for that! She shared with us her love for Mark, your brother and you--oh, and cats--let's not forget the cats!
Megan, I want to thank you for sharing your mom's story and clarifying any misinformation that might have been conveyed on this Board. If you feel so compelled to share with us where memorials are preferred, please do so.
Wishing you strength and peace in the days ahead ~
