@AnikaBrodie

It's always a struggle to keep up with technology for me when I used manual typewriters for college papers and a ten key adding machine at work. I know my Apple products can do so much more than what I'm aware of. I really don't use them for much more than emails, texting, general info searching and a bit of shopping only on trusted websites. I do have fun with the hey siri feature. Have fun on your new system!

On an added note when we were living in Kansas City we had lightening take out a lot of stuff in our home. I use power surge bars sparingly (mostly just tv and sound equipment) but don't know how effective they are. Was your electrical stuff plugged in a surge protector? I also leave expensive kitchen counter appliances unplugged until I use them because of my previous damage I had.

@Sassy7356

Sorry you have been in pain, I know it is a constant thing you deal with like so many of us here do. This sub zero weather we've been having seems to exacerbate aches and pains for me. Being a sun worshipper I long for hot sunny days where my body can soak up the warming rays but unfortunately all the skin cancer issues on my sun abused body cause me nagging concerns now. It's always something as they say. I had a pot roast yesterday as it is such a cold weather food and it tasted so delicious with the carrots and potatoes roasted with it. I have not made any of my homemade soups yet this winter, just chili once. @possummink used to have such delicious looking homemade soups that she would post pictures of. Try to stay warm over there in Minnesota, we have an occasional non bone chilling day here but even colder temps are forecast.

@meallen616   When I was working late with my boss, eons ago, he sent me to a deli for dinner which was a hot pastrami sandwich.  I had no idea of what it was, so I ordered mine with mayo, which I put on sandwiches.  The look on the man's face, he may have said something, don't remember, but as I began eating it, I realized mayo does not belong on this sandwich, plenty of fat without it, lol.

@AnikaBrodie Consider a whole house surge protector. I have one and an extra one when I purchased my TV.
    Once lightening struck a power cable and I had to have my first generator retired.  The same one got my neighbor's TV, and computer.  When I purchased the second one I had the whole house protector installed.
   I hope everything gets replaced soon. I'm so sorry it happened.

          @mousiegirl & all: this looks delicious!  There is a Deli in the next town that was in a shopping center near my parents house. I'd get a  hot corned beef sandwich that was cooked there. It came with chips and a bowl of dill pickles. Yummy!

     There was a deli where I took a few classes that had the corned beef sandwiches. We supported them, ha!
       There is one near the college here. My son occasionally gets them and onion rings. Half a sandwich there is plenty for me!

        I haven't been eating much due to bronchitis and the tooth. Mostly soup or soft. Left over tomato soup tonight, maybe grilled cheese. I didn't have lunch and had to get a few groceries. I bought more yogurt and had that upon returning.
       It's the first time I've been driving since Friday and the ice was still on the hill. When walking I looked at it and the road around the triangles to the top of the hill. 💡I had the brilliant idea to go that way and avoid the hill. It's taken me about 50 years to realize it!
        We had a short walk because the border collie was coming and Snickers wants to fight it. I threw her in the laundry tub and she had a fast bath and was towel dried.

  She's in the recliner with the Dyson heater on 71 blowing her. Laundry is finishing. Keep  warm y'all!

Re: Snow Much Fun!

[ Edited ]

Sunny and cold, no wind now, but it may be coming.

the septic work was finished today, but will have to replace both leach fields at some time, probably should have done it now, HUGE bucks.  I was afraid we would have to because I know the age and how long they last. This septic work finished today was $3,400.

Now, we have to deal with a broken pipe which stopped leaking when the septic was pumped, also big bucks to repair that.

I will make the goulash soup tomorrow, didn't the other day.  Tonight, we will eat my potato and corn chowder with onions, carrots, and parsley, may add baby spinach leaves when serving.

We will be looking for a frig/freezer, have been researching.  They will be half the size of what we have now as the freezer, though beautiful, held too much and we really do not need that size, so 36" instead of the 72" we have now.

While the septic work was going on, huge, deep trench, I put a pot on the deck blocking Remmy from going on that side, that's all we would need is a dog in a trench, and we would not have been able to get him out, we would have had to call the fire department or some such rescue source, which is his usual, removed the pot today and off he went, lol.

With no rain, I will have to hand water and freeze, did a little yesterday after the crew left.  Also, took a few cuttings of plants they had to dig up, see that they put them back but no doubt in the wrong place and too close together, so will fix when the weather warms.

          HOORAY!  It will be 50 today! My street will melt. We walked around the circle earlier dodging ice.
    I'm still coughing and didn't want to hold unneeded appointments at the dentist. I texted that I'm on antibiotics but still coughing plus teeth were hurting from chewing on one side.

    She cancelled the cleaning on the 20 th and might do them when permanent tooth is cemented . Also she had an appointment for 10:30 the 23 d for the crown preparation! I told her it might snow 5" and she said she didn't see that weather. My phone did! Anyhow that's what we plan. Whew! @Sweet Caroline 1 We should all celebrate when your sister and I get our teeth fixed! Our dentists will too!

Oh me @1Snickers,   It's like pulling teeth to get to the dentist! Smiley Happy I took to feeling bad a few days ago.  Histamine attacking my eyes and my forehead.  Itch, itch, itch!  That slowly backed off and then the attack of the body aches.  Hard to walk.  This afternoon, I layed down for a nap and I woke up tonight with my body feeling a lot better.  I hope it stays.  I hope that you are feeling much better and the weather will let you get your visit taken care of.  Try to swish with warm salt water to sooth your teeth and gums.  God Bless you friend. Heart
